Troubleshoot issues related to networks, databases, data structures, and algorithms.Multitask and stay organized in a dynamic work environment.Be responsible for delivering code changes to production, and monitoring/maintaining our CI/CD pipelines. Work with Product and R&D management to analyze requirements and define technical solutions, write functional and design specificationsContribute to develop and build a scalable and highly available SaaS solutionWork on various projects with minimal or no guidance. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? Within 60 days of employment, become competent with the software engineering life cycle at VMware. Within 90 days, get famial with vCenter LCM functionality and start contributing to the development and automations with your peers. Within 180 days, work independently towards solutions for identified features for various offerings and develop expertise. Consider using a SMART Goals or OKRs  for defining the performance outcomes Play an active hands-on role across the entire software development life cycleExpected to actively contribute to projects and help grow other team members.  The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? Coding, Lower level designs, prototype and iterate on possible solutions based on the requirements Your expertise in Python, and distributed systems will be helpful to be successful. Also the opportunity to work on GolangWrite crisp and clear designs and functional specifications Participate in implementation efforts with a team of engineers to build the solution Work on improving performance and efficiency Perform peer code reviews and develop automated unit and functional tests. Handle issues found in unit testing, system testing and customer deployments.  What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?  The hiring manager for this role is Akash Kodenkiri. Director of Engineering in CIBG group. Akash has been at VMware for over 20 years of domain expertise in distributed systems, multi-cloud, embedded systems and delivering software as a service. Akash will work with you to set a strategy, provide guidance, seek feedback and remove impediments. He will expect you to be self-driven, creative, and energised to achieve the team’s mission.  He works out of the Bangalore office in India. The team has a very open and dynamic culture that highly encourages innovation, communication and collaboration with the unified goal of delivering a highly stable and scalable product. We are an eclectic mix of highly motivated engineers with varied experience levels distributed across Palo Alto, Sofia, Bulgaria and Bangalore, India. Most of the team works from Bangalore and the team consists of highly competent engineers at various levels and from diverse backgrounds.
