NPI TechnicianStatus: Non-Exempt (hourly) Department: OperationsPosition SummaryThe NPI Technician is responsible for fabrication, assembly, debug, testing and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components of fuel cell systems. This role requires excellent Mechanical/Electrical aptitude and teamwork skills. The role also requires close interaction with the engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure any issues get communicated and resolved in a timely manner. This position will report to the Production Manager, NPI.Duties and responsibilities:Ability to assemble, troubleshoot and test electro-mechanical systemsAbility to fabricate mechanical parts and sheet metal assemblies using basic machine shop toolsMust be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formPerforms other related duties as assignedAbility to read mechanical part drawings and wire schematicsPerform electrical/electronic component, subsystem and system level testing and troubleshooting, and repairs as needed, to support NPI.Hand assembly of a variety of harness components to be utilized in the manufacturing process.Assist with engineering investigations, tests and root cause analysis to solve component and product issuesMaintain 5S throughout the day.Provide diagnostic troubleshooting and repair guidance and direction of manufactured products.Exhibit and enforce the safety procedures in the facility.Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times.Validating Design and process documentationEducation and Experience:High school diploma, plus 3-5 years of experience in similar roleAssociates degree in a technical field or military certification is preferredStrong verbal and written communication skillsUncompromising dedication to qualityAbility to multi-task effectivelyAbility to navigate Bills of Material and inventory control software (ERP)Process orientated individual with ability to identify and communicate where improvements are needed.Excellent follow-throughMust be driven and self-motivatedTeamwork oriented and focusedAbility to use various handheld electrical/mechanical toolsAbility to assemble and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systemsAbility to debug and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systemsExperience with battery and power systems a plusHigh degree of manual dexterity and mechanical aptitudeAbility to work overtime as assigned and commit to a flexible work schedule around manufacturing demandAbility to operate a computer and perform computer transactions accuratelyBasic familiarity with Microsoft Office software programsAbility to stand and/or and sit for long periods of time in performance of job functionsMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassistedPay Rate:$22.12 - $31.68We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓ Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
