Role: Cloud Observability EngineerLocation: Monterrey or Remote in MexicoAt Blue Yonder, we’re passionate about building software that solves problems. We count on our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team to empower users with a rich feature set, high availability, and stellar performance level to pursue their missions. As we expand customer deployments, we are seeking Cloud Observability Engineers to work collaboratively with software engineers, architects, and cloud engineers to deploy and operate the PD-owned systems required to develop and deliver our products. Help automate and streamline operations and processes through strong observability, build and maintain tools for monitoring and diagnostics, as well as troubleshoot and resolve issues in dev, test, and even production environments. Mentor and develop other engineers, as applicable.Key Objectives and Responsibilities: Establish, enhance a data driven observability platform for full-fidelity, real-time monitoring of infrastructure, applications, microservices, containers, and interfaces.Detect errors, latencies, anomalies, performance degradations, problems before users and customers are impacted.Map problems and errors in various applications to their proper owners.Establish a continuous and automated process to leverage application logs, traces, and SLIs to detect and report service performance issues.Partner with other cross-functional teams for issue identification and to help drive incidents to resolution utilizing Splunk and other monitoring platforms.Work closely with Platform and Server administration teams to diagnose and resolve configuration risks.Help train and provide user support for monitoring platformsUse collaboration tools to organize, collaborate, document, share knowledge of workThrough proper observability, help to improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutionsLeveraging your experience, seek and identify gaps in coverage, making recommendations for new technologies or general approaches towards sound observabilityRequired skills and qualifications:Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science or related disciplineSolid understanding of large-scale applications, Cloud Observability, monitoring and fault management, and understanding of Network ArchitecturesExperience with at least one or multiple monitoring/log analysis systems (e.g. Zabbix, Splunk, Elastic, AppDynamics preferred)Experience with Windows, Unix and Linux SystemsProficiency with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Groovy, and BashExperience in Cloud environments / IaaS – Azure preferredExperience with log management.Experience coordinating between support and development teams to ensure effective delivery of monitoring services to the end-user.Experience implementing best practices and industry standards for operational monitoring aligned to ITIL.3-4 years experience working in a large, matrix–driven corporate environment desired.Agile experience through Scrum or other similar Sprint-based delivery approaches preferred.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, Analytical, problem-solving skills.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced technical environment with increasing support demands and complexity.Ability to manage multiple priorities and assigned tasks to meet deadlines and objectives.Ability to collaborate and openly share ideas with a team of like-minded professionals.Nice to have experience:Splunk and/or AppDynamics training or certifications at power user and administration levelsExperience implementing and developing Splunk ITSIAzure admin certificationsExposure or experience leverage Python or other automation programmingAt Blue Yonder, we care about the wellbeing of our employees and those most important to them.
