Senior Data ScientistDescription -Job Description: Senior Data ScientistThe Advanced Analytics & Economic Office within HP’s Market Analysis and Planning function seek a senior data scientist with a strong background in machine learning, econometrics, statistical analysis, and programming. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing advanced analytical analysis to drive significant business decisions governed by a deep intuitive sense of how your analysis relates to the business’s success. This role offers excellent visibility as your analysis will be used extensively throughout the firm to drive tactical, strategic, and operational decisions at the regional, business unit, and corporate levels. As a senior data scientist in the team, you will be expected to work with cross-functional teams of industry analysts and business leaders to deliver impactful, analytically driven insights and forecasts on the demand and supply of HP’s range of technology products and services.Key ResponsibilitiesEngage with business partners, understanding their pressing and vital issues, and develop data-driven analytics to solve themShape the company’s understanding of the direction of the technology industry and customer behavior through quantitative and analytical methodsCommunicate data-driven points of view effectively with a strong prowess in influencing  Resolve pressing business issues in an efficient and effective mannerLeverage advanced analytical techniques to drive value-added business actions and decisionsSupport industry analysts in understanding significant market shocks that are or will impact the technology industryExpand on existing statistical, econometric, and machine learning models used in market forecasting and analysisEducation and Experience RequiredMasters/Ph.D. in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field10+ Years of experience developing advanced analytical methods to address business issues and communicating results to senior leaders10+ Years developing econometrics, statistical, and machine learning models for forecasting time-seriesKnowledge and SkillsPassionate about the technology industry, its role in society, and its evolution in changing the way we work, learn, play, and interactAdvanced analytical skills, including time-series forecasting, econometric analysis, and machine learning/AIStrong background in statistical programming languages (R, Python, etc.); familiarity with SQL a plusHigh level of skill in developing analysis to address esoteric and sometimes ambiguously defined business questionsDeep knowledge of fundamental drivers of consumer and commercial IT spending decisionsExperience in collaborating with business partners across the seniority spectrumExcellent problem-solving abilities coupled with strong written/oral communications skillsStrong interpersonal and group project management skillsExperience in presenting complex topics to senior leadersAbility to interface effectively with cross-functional teamsPossess a high degree of initiative, flexibility, and a positive attitudeSelf-starter with natural curiosity and investigative skills who takes ownership to drive resultsJob -SoftwareSchedule -Full timeShift -No shift premium (Romania)Travel -Relocation -EEO Tagline - HP Inc. is EEO F/M/Protected Veteran/ Individual with Disabilities.
