Electrical/FPGA Design EngineerDescription -The HP PageWide Web Press is a new industrial printing solution built on HP Scalable PageWide Printing Technology. We have revolutionized the digital web press industry by offering full-color, variable data printing at unprecedented speeds and media widths. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to apply their electrical design verification knowledge and FPGA skills to enhance next generation products. You will be an integral part of a fast-paced R&D team responsible for creating electrical, FPGA, and control solutions shared throughout HP worldwide, as well as designing for specific PWP products.For more information on PWP products:http://www8.hp.com/us/en/commercial-printers/web-presses/overview.htmlPosition Overview:With the analog to digital conversion revolutionizing the printing industry, you will be working on innovative next generation designs using cutting-edge technology. The work spans the gamut from design fixes, developing new blocks to new complete designs, as well as modifying previous designs.  You will be generating RTL, creating corresponding test plans and documentation, architecting and developing verification environments, and applying your skills to verify complex designs until all required verification activities at IP, sub-system, and system/architecture levels are met, ensuring a robust experience for our customers.  The ideal candidate will have experience working with both Windows and Linux systems, a solid understanding of circuit fundamentals, and experience with Verilog and SystemVerilog programming languages.Knowledge and SkillsDomain Knowledge & Experience – Must Skills:Bachelor (undergraduate), Masters (graduate) or Ph.D (post-graduate) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, ECE, CE or related subject.Minimum 5 years of experience with electrical design tools and software packages, FPGA tools and flows, RTL, SystemVerilog or Verilog, with at least 3 years of applicable experience in product FPGA design from development through to release.Ability to develop test plans for functional and circuit performance validation, develop test benches, create test cases, debugFamiliarity with Windows and Linux environments.Design knowledge of electronic components, integrated circuitry, and algorithmsAbility to solve technical problems in a fast-paced product development environment.Highly Desirable skills:Experience with a variety of FPGAs (Altera, Xilinx, etc.)Knowledge of VHDL and OVM/UVM a plus.Other high-level language/scripting programming experience (e.g., C, Java, C++, Python, Tcl).Knowledge of good coding practices, source code control, and experience in work with distributed design responsibility.Ability to organize & collect data (script through results files), analyze & harvest data, and communicate/summarize key results.Experience in state machine design and implementation, event driven control, complex error detection and recovery, synchronization between multiple devices with multiple states.Experience in translating from requirements into design, from design into subsystems.Strong analytical skills.Exceptional written and oral communication – specifications, engineering plans, test plans, other.Team player, with a bias towards action.Ability to communicate effectively.Demonstrated initiative in previous projects.HP is an equal opportunity employer:  https://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c08129225#LI-POST Job -EngineeringSchedule -Full timeShift -No shift premium (United States of America)Travel -25%Relocation -YesEEO Tagline - HP Inc. is EEO F/M/Protected Veteran/ Individual with Disabilities.
