The Human Rights team oversees due diligence by driving risk sensing and assessments as well as supporting other business functions that have the potential to impact human rights. The role involves the ability to develop partnerships and collaborate across the business to implement joint action plans meant to improve company performance in human rights. The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring human rights due diligence plans, outputs and reporting are carefully managed.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Serve as the internal subject matter expert on human rights due diligence.Lead the implementation and scaling of the company-wide global human rights due diligence initiatives including identifying and addressing salient human rights risks globally.Research, interpret, and apply HRDD frameworks and guidelines.Serve as an integral thought partner on emerging human rights due diligence approaches and methodologies.Consult and advise stakeholders across functions to assemble HRDD related content.Identify, select and manage third party partners with requisite expertise to support the program. This includes developing terms of reference, managing partner engagements, and budgets.Support annual sustainability external reporting in collaboration with communications and other team members/business divisions.Provide expert thought leadership with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may also provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor as required.QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Law, Human Rights, Social Sciences, Sociology, Development Studies or International Relations . A first level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.Work Experience:A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in human rights, law or related area is required.Knowledge and Skills Required:Sound knowledge of fundamental human rights principles.Advanced knowledge of human rights regulations related to corporations, and supply chain.Previous experience implementing HRDD and HRIA programs.A high level of professionalism/integrity and ability to work with sensitive and confidential matters.A self-starter comfortable with ambiguity and able to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines.Preferred Skills:Knowledge of Supply chain operations e2e process (systems, structures, and processes to plan and execute the flow of goods and services from supplier to customer).Understanding and/or experience of supply chain traceability and mapping.Experience integrating social responsibility into core business practices within a multinational corporation, with a focus on human rights.Language:Fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another language relevant to the Asia region is an advantage.Other:Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and SharePoint.Demonstrated experience working with diverse and geographically dispersed team members, all levels of management, and external stakeholders.Willingness to travel as needed.Sustainable impact is HP’s commitment to create positive, lasting change for the planet, its people, and our communities.
