Software Product Manager - HyperXDescription -The HyperX Software Product Manager is so much more than a messenger between stakeholders. The responsibilities for this role include serving as the primary point-of-contact for software projects from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. Our ideal Software PM will anticipate and innovate trends in gaming software while keeping our overall software strategy in mind. The role requires taking ownership of HyperX’s hardware enablement and customization software products to find new ways to expand into creative and fresh feature sets. Excellent communication skills and detailed technical knowledge will be essential for explaining requirements to developers and working with them to deliver product improvements to our end users.Responsibilities:Understands the overall market, competitors, and open-source technologies.Defines software product requirements, including both hardware- and software-specific features.Works closely with stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.Translates user requirements into executable and workable feature items with the software engineering and design teams.Translates market and stakeholder needs into product requirements and definitions.Collaborates with stakeholders to guide feature development and prioritization.Acts as an advocate for the stakeholders during specification and development stages.Maintains the software product roadmap.Understands software analytics and how they contribute to key performance indicators (KPIs).Knowledge & SkillsStrong technical knowledge of complex software systems, including enterprise, middleware, firmware, and embedded systems.Adept at collecting and analyzing input from multiple sources (customers, sales, engineering, marketing, competitor, and management).Clear understanding of SCRUM and Agile workflows.Significant experience in software development, systems engineering, or software product management.Ability to understand and deal well with rapid development cycles and remain flexible in the face of uncertainty.Ability to not only communicate in software engineering specific jargon and non-technical language but also translate between the two.Scope & ImpactDecisions and actions typically impact multiple departments and may have downstream repercussions lasting multiple weeks.Advises various internal, partner, and customer teams on the needs and requirements of target markets.Works closely with architects and technology leads, directly engaging with internal and external software development teams.ComplexityModerate: Some senior management interface; frequent cross-functional/cross-organizational interaction on execution of tactics.Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or projectLeader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process.
