To deliver this vision, HP is building out our Enterprise Architecture organization that is responsible for spearheading alignment to HPs vision and strategy, while enabling our business and technology capabilities by owning the selection and roadmap for our solutions.Duties and Responsibilities:Proficient in influencing and guiding external Service Integrator’s/Providers and internal architects in implementation of the strategy, providing guidance and review architecture plans and designs to ensure methodology, best practices, and standards. Responsibilities are also to ensure overall quality of the solution vision and conceptual designs aligned to business portfolios.Proficient at demonstrating the ability to lead and influence across multiple levels of the organization and with internal and external team members.Oversees and/or supports all governance of Enterprise Architecture principles (both Technical and Business based) and framework to assure compliance to the EA strategy and that exceptions are well justified and documented through a formal waiver process. Analyses the impact of business applications/systems exceptions and its effect on future IT and enterprise goals. Approves technology standards, guidelines, and frameworks.Provides technical direction for the design of highly complex and Enterprise scale systems solutions to effectively meet business needs. Provides leadership for the solution design of projects that address strategic business needs.  This includes in-depth analysis of multiple solution options and variants.Partners with the Enterprise Architecture team on the creation of the conceptual architecture that addresses the high-level business requirements.  Participates in Solution Architecture and Program Reviews for applicable projects.May author specific macro level business solution designs that define how the functional requirements will be technically enabled but will manage all Portfolio Architects.Provides guidance to an extended project design team related to the solution architecture and technical approach.  Reviews the macros designs of the broader design team.  Assists and advises the PMO in design questions or issues.Owns and authors sizing and detailed estimates processes for highly complex new project requests.  Participates in the review of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models for large and complex projects.  Maintains estimate artifacts for the solution designs throughout the project lifecycle.Maintains broad knowledge in the business applications/services that comprise a given domain.  Has an expert understanding of the end-to-end business application processes across all portfolios and domains.  Is responsible for the business application/service roadmaps including the recommendation and initiation of business-driven projects.Leads discussions on design approaches to solving visible, strategic, and complex business problems.  Provides technical subject matter expertise and insight related to the business applications across portfolio domains.Publishes and maintains design best practice methodologies and standards.Performs other activities as assigned such as production support escalations, vendor RFPs, proofs of concepts, special projects.Expected to mentor one or more portfolio and domain architects on the team.Maintains a given Portfolios current and future state business capability models and application models.Ensures the delivery of EA cubes tied to current/future state and intentional roadmaps aligned to EA viewpoints.Decision Making: Responsible for business applications and solution approaches for highly complex and Enterprise projects.Responsible for macro design for highly complex components and functionality.Leads discussions around application, system and technical solution alternatives based on variances of scope, budget, and timeline.Recommends and drives IT driven initiatives to enable key technical characteristics (Availability, Recoverability, Scalability, Performance characteristics, etc.) of business applications in their area of expertise for all business units.Span of Control (i.e., Direct Reports/Indirect reports): Direct reports performing Architecture services and capabilities.Dotted line management of Other Architecture competencies producing EA, and DA artifacts.Scope of Responsibility (i.e., Financial Impact):Responsible for solution design decisions for large and enterprise projects (typically multi-million dollar projects)Activities directly impact project timelines and budgets.Strong understanding of strategic planning techniques and principalsKnowledge of business and portfolio architecture theories and implementations, technology solutionsExperience with IT Systems Architectures, IT management tools and techniquesOperations experience sufficient to understand sales, service and RFP processesIn-depth experience with vendor facilitation, management and partneringBroad experience in estimating, cost / benefit analysis, ROI, needs analysis, project scheduling, evaluation techniques, etcThinks strategically; acts pragmaticallyAbility to manage large-scale strategic and architectural initiativesSkills/Knowledge:Extensive experience interpreting functional needs and writing or editing solution designs for new systems, systems changes or system enhancements of a highly complex and sophisticated nature.​  Extensive experience in the design phase of highly complex Enterprise level systems projects. Broad packaged application and technology expertise in alignment with specific domains (SAP, MS Dynamics, Oracle, ServiceNow, Enterprise Integration (Apigee and MuleSoft, etc).Technology design expertise which includes Performance, Security, Availability, as well as Operations, Monitoring and Support.Strong knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and PCI policies and controls. Expert level functional understanding of the business processes supported in a given portfolio’s business applications.Strong consulting leading and mentoring skills.Exceptional interpersonal skills and written communication skills to frequently interact with all levels of the organization.Demonstrated ability to effectively work both independently and within cross functional project teams that span multiple time-zones. Ability to understand the big picture and the short-term perspectives of specific situations.Ability to influence others to achieve results. Strong problem-solving and analytic skills. Expert knowledge of the software development lifecycle.Ability to alter direction easily to accommodate changing prioritiesMinimum Experience:15+ years of progressive experience performing definition and implementation of enterprise solutions 12+ years’ experience in technology and systems design roles and implementation of systems supporting ERP (Supply Chain) and/or corporate business operationsEducation Requirements:Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent experience; Master's Degree strongly preferredPer the state of Washington statue, the estimated range of compensation for this job in Washington, at the time of this posting, is $190,000-$230,000.
