Data and Quality EngineerDescription -DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior Software Developer/Data Engineer to join our Big Data development team. Our people have a creative, innovative, fun, and collaborative attitude, and are dedicated to creating new and valuable solutions for HP.ResponsibilitiesA data engineer on this team will design, develop, test, modify, deploy, and document solutions and services in both local and cloud-based deployments of our Big Data infrastructure. The engineer will create solutions using current programming languages and tools and interact with team members, customers, and partners to define requirements. The engineer will also work with stakeholders and data scientists to analyze, extract, and report meaningful insights from collected data. Responsibilities include:Leads multiple project teams of other software/data engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration.Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on applications design and development.Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with applications design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.Provides domain-specific expertise and overall software leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software applications design organization.Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.Participates in analyzing requirements and high-level designs.Implements, tests, and maintains software modules created.Participates in code reviews.Gives input to management on task duration estimates, technical information, and issue resolution.Provides domain-specific expertise and perspective to partners.Maintains awareness of new tools, environments, and methodologies being used in the Big Data space.Recommends ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.Develops processes for data modeling, mining, and reporting.Researches opportunities for acquiring new data and new uses for existing data.Education And Experience RequiredBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.Typically 6-10 years of experience.We are not able to sponsor individuals for immigration benefits for this position.Tools And Technology ExperiencePython, PySpark, (SparkDatabricks or equivalentSQL (PostGres, MSSQL, …)API (OpenAPI, fastAPI, ….)DevOps (Git, CI, unit testing, GitOps, …)DockerJSON & JSON SchemaAWSKnowledge And SkillsExtensive experience with multiple software applications design tools and languages.Experience with source control management systems such as Git.Experience working in an Agile software development environment.Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.Experience in overall architecture of software applications for products and solutions.Designing and integrating software applications running on multiple platform types into overall architecture.Evaluating forms and processes for software applications testing and methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels. About HPYou’re out to reimagine and reinvent what’s possible—in your career as well as the world around you.So are we.
