Sustainable Metals Engineer - PrintDescription -This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of HP’s Direct Procurement team that develops and manages a world class supply chain in support of award-winning products in both Print and Personal Systems with aggressive goals to increase circularity across the company. As a successful candidate you will collaborate across personal systems with program teams, design teams, PS Operations, Sustainable Impact and Compliance teams, and suppliers to develop and deliver optimal solutions to enable increased Post-Consumer Recycled plastic resin in out products content while supporting our business goals.  In this role, you will play a critical role helping to drive HP to meet sustainability with regards to utilizing higher content of recycled metals in our products and ensuring that HP’s brand is protected.You will be a member of a technical and business team that:Will have or develop insight into the constraints and drivers that impact our current choices in supply chain development for metal components in print.Lead investigation of solutions across the industry potentially with new suppliers and new technologiesPartner across the organization to help drive towards common solutions across HP.Collaborate with the Sustainable Impact and Operations Compliance team to consider external partnerships across the industry to find new solutions for higher content of recycled metals.Lead in the development and execution of a strategy to increase HP's overall ability to deliver higher content of recycled metals in the products we deliver.Communicates overall direction and reports overall progress at a business unit level.In addition to the focus on recycled metals, the successful candidate will also be comfortable working as a procurement engineer that can perform the following activities:Develops sourcing solutions for custom mechanical designs with a focus on metal forming, stamping and machined commodities.Co-develops solutions with R&DSelects, develops, manages suppliers to support a range of business need and production volumesDevelops and implements test and part qualification plans for manufacturing solutions.Leads cross functional teams to resolve technical issues across multiple disciplinesOptimizes and continuously improves delivery, quality, and costProtects HP’s IP and business interests.Provides guidance, mentoring and leadership to the broader HP teamOccasional travel and flexible work hours are required to work with worldwide partners and suppliers.The ideal candidate routinely applies developed subject matter knowledge of metal component manufacturing technologies such as stamping, forming, machining and/or casting to solve common and complex technical issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope.  Will act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.Minimum Qualification: BSME or related scientific discipline10 years working experience in the field of custom metal component design and manufacturing and is familiar with a variety of metal manufacturing technologies.Knowledge of design capabilities and limitations of metal manufacturing technologies, tooling and processes.Understanding of sources of variation that affect part quality, cost and overall capacity.Experience using 2D and 3D CAD applications.Strong analytic and empirical problem solving skills          Aptitude to work collaboratively, both within and outside one’s own work groupProven ability to influence and lead execution activities on new strategic development work.High level of initiative and able toExcellent written and verbal language communication skills; mastery in English and local language.Desired Qualification: Strong passion for developing new sustainableMaster’s degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperienced in a range of design optimization methodsValue EngineeringDesign for ManufacturingDesign of ExperimentsFMEATolerance analysisExperience with a variety of Metrology methods and equipment, and Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility techniquesKnowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance standardsAbility to define part specifications and test protocolsAbility to analyze data, create reports, and distill key messagesExperience in driving improvements in processes to reduce cost or improve quality using Statistical Process Control, Lean Manufacturing, and other process optimization methods.Familiarity with business contractsIn depth knowledge of how to establish a target cost for metal fabrication technologies.Job -EngineeringSchedule -Full timeShift -No shift premium (Spain)Travel -Relocation -EEO Tagline - HP Inc. is EEO F/M/Protected Veteran/ Individual with Disabilities.
