Our Legal team is a key enabler to HP’s strategic vision to create technology that inspires ambitious and meaningful progress.About the role We are looking for a passionate, collaborative leader with a proven track record of leading privacy and data protection in a global context with interest in evolving the digital trust outcomes of a Fortune 100 technology company. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, The Head of Trust & Privacy at HP will be responsible for leading the company-wide strategy and assurance of privacy and data protection, online safety and ethical data principles ensuring that HP is a trusted commercial partner and consumer services provider.Working in partnership with HP’s Data and Analytics Office and Cybersecurity teams, this position is responsible for defining and maintaining HP’s Global Privacy Program and leading its implementation with internal business and global function teams to ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements. The role also drives the attainment of privacy and data transfer certifications required for commercial demonstration of compliance in key markets and verticals and is responsible for demonstrating Trust & Privacy outcomes to external stakeholders in conjunction with HP Communications and Marketing teams. The role includes the day-to-day leadership and management of the Trust and Privacy Office, a team of privacy compliance professionals and privacy & cybersecurity counsel, engaged in regulatory tracking and advocacy, policy definition, privacy risk management and company-wide privacy operations functions. The Head of Trust and Privacy at HP is also responsible for leading HP’s distributed network of privacy professionals embedded in other business and functional teams and aligning overall HP resource investment and strategy across the company.Key ResponsibilitiesDriving HP Trust and Privacy Strategy in support of HP desired business outcomesMaintaining, leading, and developing a high performing team of Trust and Privacy Office leaders and employeesLeading internal change in response to strengthening rules and customer expectations.Acting as senior focal point for incidents and customer escalations relating to trust and privacyLeading distributed network of Privacy contacts across software, marketing, and other teamsProviding strategic advice and counsel for complex use cases of international laws and guidance for personal data protection and information privacy.Requirements  Experience Typically 12-15+ years relevant practice at a law firm or in-house, or similar professional experience in Privacy and Data Protection implementationTypically 10+ years of management experience, with history of progressive responsibilityFamiliarity and comfort leading the operationalization of a global privacy program balancing regulatory complexity and a global business operating modelDemonstrable experience in privacy and trust considerations for a diverse set of use cases preferably in online business, software, mobile applications, IOT, subscription-based services, cloud based commercial services and employee privacy.  Experience leading results within a global and highly matrixed organization.Knowledge/Skills Deep understanding of major privacy regulatory frameworks including GDPR, PIPL and CCPA.Exceptional communicator to audiences of all levels internally and externallyWell-developed breadth of business knowledge across HP or similar large global corporationPragmatic, solutions-oriented mindsetAuthoritative leader willing to dig in to the detail where neededCapable of prioritizing, working with deadlines and under pressureEducationAdvanced university degree in law, computer science, public policy, or relevant disciplineMeets local legal license requirements where applicable.Certification(s) from International Association of Privacy ProfessionalsOur HP Way PracticesWe lead with ambition and agility:Defy the status quoMove fast, learn, adaptInnovate with impactWe focus on customers first: Seek insightsSolve big problemsDeliver on commitmentsWe grow together:Champion diversity and inclusionCollaborate for best resultsHave brave conversationsWe win with purpose and integrity:Act with uncompromising ethicsStrengthen communities and human rightsAdvance equity & sustainabilityOur Commitment to Diversity, Equity & InclusionWe are reinventing the standard for diversity, equity, and inclusion — in how we operate as a company and impact society.
