In this role you will ensure our customers across can purchase HP products because they are legally compliant; through thorough monitoring and tracking of regulations, their analysis, then relaying the relevant requirements to our product development business units. You will also support advocacy and engagement with key stakeholders. You will primarily focus on regulations in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa); and you will also work with our colleagues in other regions to provide a global overview of regulations that could impact HP.The successful candidate will join our Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Sustainable Impact team and be based at our San Cugat (Barcelona) office.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will lead one of our major compliance and market access programs covering Eco Design, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and Sustainability Transparency. As part of this role:You will help ensure HP product and services are compliant with environmental regulations and legislation in EMEA on Eco Design, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and Sustainability Transparency, through thorough monitoring and tracking of regulations, their analysis, then relaying the relevant requirements to our product stewardship, reporting and marketing implementation teams.You will also support advocacy on Eco Design and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and Sustainability Transparency, including building HP’s position, delivering thought leadership, and working with our Government Affairs team to engage with key stakeholders. You will attend meetings with industry associations key stakeholders and policy makers. You will also brief and co-ordinate team members to enable them to engage within their respective countries. You will help ensure HP is a trusted advisor in the policy making process and use your understanding of environmental policy to help shape constructive policy proposals.You will focus on the Eco Design Directive and the proposed Eco-design for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), as well as other eco design measures at an EU and national level that could impact HP.You will also focus on ESG legislation including EU CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), EU Taxonomy, regulations on green claims, and other EU or national ESG/sustainability reporting legislation.You will also help develop HP’s advocacy on the Digital Product Passport including developing HP’s leadership position, the development of thought leadership; and working with our Government Affairs team to develop our advocacy strategy. You will also maintain HP’s understanding and analysis of relevant eco labels; mapping out the most important eco labels, building an understanding of customer needs for our markets; and providing regular internal updates of products certified to new ecolabel criteria (TCO, EPEAT and Energy Star) and when required collaboration with relevant Ecolabel organizations.You will primarily focus on regulations in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa); and you will also work with our colleagues in other regions to provide a global overview of regulations that could impact HP.To succeed in your mission, you will work closely with the rest of the Sustainable Impact organization, other HP teams (legal, Government Affairs); and external partners including trade associations.Requirements & essential skillsRequiredPassion for sustainability and drive to make a positive difference.Bachelor's or Master's degree in with a significant sustainability or environmental policy focus (eg Geography, Environmental Policy, Environmental Management, Environmental and Business, Environmental Law or equivalent.)Knowledge and experience of understanding environmental policy requirements.Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Eco Design and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and Sustainability Transparency.Ability to understand detailed compliance requirements and the ability to develop solutions. Strong quality orientation.
