Senior Statutory AccountantDescription -As Senior Accounting Specialist, you will be a key member of Central Market Controllership team, preparing set of financial statements in closely collaboration with country lead and strong engagement with tax teams, and working closely with the business teams. Your range of responsibilities will include medium and complex financial analysis for the statutory accounts area such as: Playing a key role in closing HP legal entity books on a monthly, quarterly and annual basisPreparation of the annual set of statutory financial statements and applicable notes in accordance with German GAAPSupervision of ongoing statutory/tax reviews and dealing with internal & external auditorsPreparation of monthly/quarterly statutory balance sheet reviews and quarterly profit and loss analytical review, including conversion from management GAAP to Country GAAPCooperation and supervision over tax information prepared by tax teams and designated consultants to complete tax returnsLiaison with local government agencies when neededEnsuring compliance with HP's financial policies and local legal accounting regulationsCooperation with third party external providers for all matters requiring external consultancy and support (e.g. actuaries)Active involvement in local process improvement projects and new system implementations/rollouts as well as merger/acquisition activityEducation and Experience RequiredFirst level university degree with a focus in business or economics; advanced degree or accounting certification (e.g., Certified Public Accountant (CPA), fully qualified and accredited Chartered Accountant (TOC) strongly preferred)Typically 5+ year experience external audit (big four audit firm) or chief accountant positionTypically 8+ years of experience as a financial analystTypically experienced in a variety of finance functionsAt least advanced German and excellent English language skills (oral and written)Knowledge and Skills RequiredExcellent understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis;Strong, proven knowledge of tax rules (Direct taxes, VAT, payroll taxes, other taxes);Excellent analytical skills;Superior business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel);Strong initiative and independenceExcellent communication skills and superior teamwork skills and ability to influence multiple organizations: business centers, country controllership, tax, treasury organizationWe love our work environment.
