SPTS-OEM Inkjet- Packaging and Specialty Printing Segment ManagerDescription -Business Overview:The HP Specialty Printing & Technology Solutions (SPTS) is a unique and exciting end-to-end P&L business within HP that leverages existing Thermal Inkjet (TIJ) technology that it markets and sells to OEMs who develop specialty printers for specific field-of-use outside of HP’s core markets. The OEM in turn markets and sells their specialty printer under their own brand; and may license HP trademark for support. These HP technologies and components encompass TIJ 4.0, TIJ 2.5, and TIJ 2.X technologies for multiple world-wide market segments including Coding & Marking, Late-Stage Packaging, Specialty Packaging & Label printing Postage metering & Mail addressing, Direct Mail, Statements and Transaction printing. SPTS also develops Life Science dispensers which use TIJ technology to jet chemical agents for biotech and pharmaceutical research industry.Opportunity:The Segment & Business function within the SPTS business is comprehensive and comparable to small business management, covering the entire marketing mix and all aspects of the P&L, and provides the opportunity for regular engagement with partners, strategy development and influence, decision making, learning, ownership, significant contribution, and career development into large scale business management. Role Description:This Segment & Business role will be focused on strategy, business development and management, and Future Product Marketing for the Packaging and Specialty Printing segments, some of our fastest growing segments for SPTS. The role is responsible for understanding the target market segments and dynamics, creating a market and customer driven business case, defining the new product performance specifications and market requirements, validating product concept with partners for viability, then working with a cross-functional team through the NPI process, from Strategic Intent (SI) to Manufacturing Release (MR). The role will have visibility and regular interaction with executives, partners/customers, Category Management, Sales, Engineering and Operations departments, as well as Finance to assess market opportunities, define and launch new products, set pricing, and successfully hand-off to Current Product Marketing.Responsibilities:Become the subject matter expert in the Packaging and Specialty Printing segments and applications, and associated media, printing technologies, components, inks, including competing printing technologies and key OEM partners Define, document, communicate and update the Segment strategy and share growth plan market assessment and requirements for HP 108mm Aqueous Bulk Solution Lead market assessment and requirements for new aqueous inks. Determine pricing strategy for NPIs based on worldwide landscape and the HP portfolio Identify related market opportunities and applications that could leverage existing or modified TIJ technology components Frame strategic business decisions, make defensible recommendations supported by data and cross-functional input Conduct customer research, trade-off options, and prioritization, working through Sales/Account managers. Develop and update detailed market requirement document (MRD), define new products across multiple vectors, and prioritize necessary trade-offs to optimize the final product Identify new markets and propose new fields of use to Division Executives Own and Marketing deliverables for NPI checkpoints and presentations Co-own high-level financial deliverables (P&L, pricing) for NPI checkpoints and presentations, in conjunction with Finance, which includes variables and sensitivities. Use results to create a business case and justify investments Create content for marketing materials and product launch Co-own new product roadmap with Engineering.Education & Experience Required:Bachelors degree in Business Management, Marketing, or other relevant field.
