Regulatory Program Manager, Personal Systems InnovationDescription -What a Regulatory Program Manager (Personal Systems Innovation) does at HP:Develop and implement regulatory compliance programs for personal computer products, including ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards.Ensure product conforms to regulations with safe & legal compliance.Stay up-to-date with changes in regulatory requirements and communicate them to relevant stakeholders.Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that products meet regulatory requirements throughout the entire product development lifecycle.Manage regulatory agency communications and audits, including the preparation of regulatory submissions and reports.Develop and maintain documentation related to regulatory compliance, including product testing, certifications, and labeling.Identify potential compliance issues and develop and implement corrective action plans as needed.Monitor and report on compliance performance metrics to senior management.Track and manage all EMC/Safety/telecom/ requirement/activity for multiple projects - ensure that new product certification approvals are on schedule with introduction timeline.Build and maintain effective interface with both HP internal groups (product generation organizations and country business team) and country authorities/agencies/labs.Provide unambiguous regulatory requirements to HP business, R&D, supply chain, and manufacturing.Work closely with HP compliance group to follow up/manage the agency regulation dynamics (such as regulations, requirements, lead-time and cost changes, as well as regional specific issues.). Review/track on agency costs.Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:A bachelor's degree in computer science and general computer engineering/Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or similar STEM levels (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).Typically 5+ years’ on technical regulatory related jobs or similar jobs in Engineering.Product certification experience including regulatory requirements with minimum understanding of EMC/Safety/Telecom standards and testing.Experience in hardware EMC or Safety design and debug including regulatory standards and worldwide certification requirements.Good knowledge of worldwide EMC & Safety and Telecom compliance requirementsKnowledge of PC system configuration and architecture to enable design of experiments in problem reproduction and root cause analysis as well as system setup, teardown, and configuration.Understanding of ODM production process is a plus.Demonstrated business acumen and successful experience managing all aspects of programs, including communicating with stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources.Fluent in Chinese language is an advantage.Excellent project management and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple active projects in parallel and ability to keep them moving forward.High levels of independent supervision and ability to determine priorities and juggle multiple responsibilities in parallel.Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong people skills: able to create and maintain relationship and connection with remote-located colleagues, associates and authority personnel of other-nationalities and across multiple time zones.Sustainable impact is HP’s commitment to create positive, lasting change for the planet, its people, and our communities.
