Product Stewardship ManagerDescription -This is a unique opportunity to lead a Product Stewardship team supporting the Large Format, Industrial, 3D, and Specialty Printing & Technology Solutions businesses. In addition, this team is responsible for pan-HP Media Stewardship and Air Quality.The Sustainable Impact & Compliance (SI&C) product stewardship teams provide core leadership and expertise to inspire, empower, and support HP to achieve our goal of being the most sustainable and just technology company. This team provides deep technical & regulatory experience to guide and influence cross-functional innovation to ensure customers can and want to purchase HP Products and Services because they are safe, legally compliant, and sustainable. This dynamic and challenging role provides a great opportunity to work with colleagues across R&D, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Government Relations.Ideal candidates have robust leadership skills to coach and develop a diverse global team, combined with a strong passion to make a difference in the world. This role requires the ability to coach upward – helping build the business case for sustainable design and leading-edge regulatory compliance. Utilizing the Design for Sustainability (DfS) framework, you will lead product stewards who are focused on supporting product design, circular materials, product labeling, chemical choices, and recyclability. In addition to designing safer and more sustainable products, the team also partners with business teams on how to message our compliance and sustainability advantages to drive customer preference for HP products and services.You will evaluate and analyze regulatory and customer insights to inform future large format, industrial and 3D products and business models and influence HP’s business leaders to take action and make investments. You will need to shift your focus regularly from wide angle lens to narrow and deep focus while coaching your employees and management team. As a member of the Sustainable Impact & Compliance (SI&C) leadership team, you will help define and execute HP’s overall Sustainable Impact strategy and achievement of our SI 2025 and 2030 Goals.Responsibilities include:Protect HP’s reputation by ensuring current products meet regulatory and market access requirements as products, supply chains, and requirements change.Put plans in place to ensure we deliver HP’s 2025 & 2030 Sustainable Impact goals.Work with R&D throughout the Product Development Process to ensure New Product Introductions (NPIs) and New Service Introductions (NSIs) meet regulatory, market access, and sustainability requirements.Respond to customer, government, and key stakeholder inquiries.Continuously improve Product Stewardship processes, data automation, and tools to improve quality and operational efficiency.Inspire the team to work across complex and often ambiguous emerging regulatory frameworks that may impact product design or market access. Develop deep technical, regulatory, and customer insights to proactively influence the business unit leadership.Ensure program and project discipline is in place to execute HP’s Sustainable Impact strategy in addition to core compliance and market access product requirements.Develop a deep understanding of the environmental and health aspects of HP’s overall Print business (commercial, inks, toners, digital printing, industrial, 3D, and packaging).Ensure pan-HP compliance to Air Quality regulations and support related customer inquiries.Deliver on pan-HP Media regulatory and sustainability goals.Thrive on quickly changing sustainability and regulatory landscapes – ensuring that HP maintains a leadership position across the industry and with our customers.Network across HP functions and business units to innovate, discover, and deploy compliance and sustainable impact solutions.Serve as a trusted 1:1 advisor to multiple Business and Functional executives.QualificationsDegree in engineering, sciences, operations or related field. As the bridge between your technical team and a wide range of business partners, the ability to quickly understand and distill/communicate highly technical issues to a varied audience is critical.Proven success as a team and program leader.Experience in Product Development, Operations, Supply Chain, or Business roles; familiarity with product development and manufacturing processesStrong Negotiation and Influencing skills: able to build solid network of partners / teammates. Able to build up a strong reputation and become a trusted partner.An ability to distill highly technical issues and communicate to a varied audience.Strong program management skills.Business acumen including a basic understanding of HP’s financial systems and business models.Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with wise prioritization and an ability to consistently deliver on primary goals.Desired qualificationsSolid business acumen with an understanding of HP's financial systems and business concepts, along with budget management experience.Familiarity with HP’s Large Format, Industrial, 3D, and Specialty Printing businesses, including the associated hardware, supplies, services, and solutions.Prior management experience.Customer presence and experience.Familiarity / understanding of related market segments and competitive technologies, including EHS and other sustainability attributes.Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $135,650.00 -- $208,900.00 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
