Commodity SpecialistDescription -The position is for a Commodity Specialist. The individual will be responsible for packaging materials (e.g. corrugated, foam, molded pulp etc.) sourced to support HP’s manufacturing operations in the Americas.Applies intermediate level subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues. Works on problems of moderate complexity and scope. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and input for team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action. Follows established guidelines and interprets policies. Evaluates unique circumstances and seeks advice to make decisions on more complex business issues.Responsibilities: Manages packaging commodities and supplier relationship.Supports the analysis of packaging commodity data and industry trends; reports results to commodity managers.Collaborates with internal and external partners to meet procurement objectives.Participates as a team member on a cross-functional team and understands business priorities.Learns to use supply chain and financial modeling toolsPerforms supplier selection activities and new supplier assessment (business, capabilities, quality, etc.)Reviews supplier performance metrics identifying opportunities for improvement.Supports risk mitigation, business continuity, cost management, and operation strategies.Assists with development of commodity sourcing plans for America’s operationsSupports escalation requirements between packaging suppliers and procurement contacts from America’s manufacturing operationsAssists with strategic development and analytic support to drive organizational goals.Education and Experience Required: First level university degree or equivalent experience.Typically 2-4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain function.Knowledge and Skills: Good understanding of procurement processes, industry, and suppliers.Strong analytical skills.Good business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Power BI a plus)Basic knowledge and use of procurement tools and applications.Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities.Basic ability to develop suppliersGood teamwork skills; basic influencing skills.Mastery in English and local language.Job -Supply Chain & OperationsSchedule -Full timeShift -No shift premium (Mexico)Travel -25%Relocation -EEO Tagline - HP Inc. is EEO F/M/Protected Veteran/ Individual with Disabilities.
