New Product Procurement EngineerDescription -Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.What a New Product Procurement Engineer does at HP:Provide DFM and feedback for designed engineering solutions for mechanical and thermal hardware, electronics enclosures, and production tooling based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.Develop and implement parameters, test plans, and quality systems for new and existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, and reliability.Collaborate and communicate with management, internal, and outsourced development partners (suppliers) regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.Lead a project team of other mechanical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for moderately- complex products.Represent DPA internally and externally with engineering solutions and DFM for various components in ink supplies.Work with a team of engineers to develop products and solutions for next generation ink supplies.Support world wide manufacturing operations with quality initiatives and troubleshooting supplier issues.Provide guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)Typically 4-6 years experience.Using ProEngineer or other 3D CAD software as a mechanical design tool.Use Autodesk Moldflow or other DFM software.Strong analytical and problem solving skills.Strong understanding and experience in manufacturing processes.Designing sheet metal and plastic parts and associated production tooling and processes.Understand Geometric Tolerancing and ability to develop sound quality plans.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.Must be able to work with HP engineering and supplier teams to find solutions to issues and problems.Must be motivated to succeed and to be able to work with minimal supervision.#LI-POSTJob -EngineeringSchedule -Full timeShift -No Shift premium (Malaysia)Travel -25%Relocation -Not SpecifiedEEO Tagline - HP Inc. is EEO F/M/Protected Veteran/ Individual with Disabilities.
