R&D System EngineerDescription -What a R&D Engineer does in HP:Lead program and play a key role in system integration of developing printer’s hardware with leading edge ASIC, processor, memory and connectivity technologies for future HP laser printers.Drive root cause analysis and design engineering solutions for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.Deliver the best customer quality by meeting product requirements, driving for breakthroughs in cost and efficiency, selection of new components, schematic implementation, circuit level bring-up, debug and validation.Develops and implements parameters and test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of electrical accordance to hardware, solution, firmware and other engineering specifications and requirements.Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolutionLeads a project team of other engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for moderately- complex products.Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.Individuals who will do well in this role in HP, usually possess:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical EngineeringTypically 4-6 years experience or more of relevant working experienceElectrical board design experience will be an advantageUsing appropriate engineering design tools and software packages to design components and solutions.Strong analytical and problem solving skills.Understanding of material properties and hardware, software, and electrical component designUsing empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to validate product designs and specifications.Knowledge in design for quality, EMC, ESD, and DFx etc requirements for supporting high volume productsStrong interest in R&D careerSustainable impact is HP’s commitment to create positive, lasting change for the planet, its people, and our communities.
