Electrical Hardware Development EngineerDescription -Applies intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to develop printer electronics and/or work with suppliers in the development of printer power supplies. Works on problems of moderately complex scope. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action. Follows established guidelines and interprets policies. Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.Responsibilities: Designs portions of engineering solutions for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, and algorithms based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.Develops and implements parameters and test plans for existing designs, including validation of tolerances, margin analysis, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, thermal generation, and system power measurements.Develops qualification plan as part of the overall compliance certification schedule to fulfil the aggressive time to market objectives.Be involved actively in all relevant design reviews to ensure Design for Compliance (DfC) methodologies are followed diligently to achieve early compliance readiness.Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners on electrical hardware design and development.Participates as a member of project team of other electrical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for low to moderately- complex products.At all times ensure brand promise of Safe & Legal compliance is met consistently.Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.Typically 2-4 years relevant experience.Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess Background in digital/analog electronics and power supply designknowledge of worldwide product safety/Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)/Telecom regulatory requirements.Experience using electrical design tools and software packages.Ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills.Using empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to validate component, circuit, and hardware designs and thermal/emissions management.Project management skillsExperience working with suppliersStrong written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.Ability to effectively communicate design proposals and negotiate options.HP offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:• Dental insurance• Disability insurance• Employee assistance program• Flexible schedule• Flexible spending account• Health insurance• Life insuranceOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $78,350 to $120,650 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity.
