We do it with a spirit of inclusion and trust, acting as 'One VMware' to help our customers win.   What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for? The VMware Cloud Infrastructure product marketing team is seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Marketing Manager to join their team.   With our team, you can help blaze the trail for our customer's transformation with multi-cloud. This role will drive the growth of VMware's subscription/SaaS product family while leading and influencing cross-functional teams within CIBG. The successful candidate will be instrumental in setting the vision for product go-to-market strategy, positioning, messaging, monitoring key performance indicators, understanding the dynamics of direct and channel sales, and influencing multiple teams toward common goals.  The successful candidate should possess excellent collaboration skills to effectively work with diverse teams and functions to achieve common goals. The role requires communicating effectively, building relationships, and working collaboratively with organizational stakeholders to align strategies, resolve conflicts, and drive results. The Portfolio Marketing Manager should be able to leverage their communication and collaboration skills to influence and persuade others. They should also be open to feedback and willing to incorporate others' perspectives into their work. As a core member of the PMM team, the Portfolio Marketing Manager will work closely with corporate marketing, technical marketing, product management, and other product marketing teams, as well as with a variety of cross-functional teams across the company. This collaboration will be critical to drive the success of the product offering and to ensure that the team blazes the trail for our customer's transformation with multi-cloud.  Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?  First 30-60 days: Familiarize yourself with the VMware Cloud portfolio and its fundamental role in the success of the broader VMware strategy and vision. Understand customer needs and requirements related to the VMware Cloud portfolio. Get familiar with the messaging and positioning requirements for the VMware Cloud portfolio. Identify key core and broader team members, primary cross-functional groups, high-priority initiatives, and become comfortable with the organization's operating cadence. Create a roadmap to meet key business objectives for your role as VMware Cloud portfolio marketing manager.  First 60-90 days: Execute the prioritized plan with impactful initiatives to amplify all areas of your role. Develop impactful and resonant VMware Cloud messaging that resonates with customers and partners. Create use cases that demonstrate the value of the VMware Cloud portfolio to potential customers. Develop collateral such as whitepapers, case studies, and other materials that support the messaging and positioning of the VMware Cloud portfolio. Support critical launch announcements and enable sellers to be successful in selling the VMware Cloud portfolio.  Create sales and partner enablement content that helps sales teams and partners effectively sell the VMware Cloud portfolio. Work on joint-marketing projects with tech/OEM partners that help promote the VMware Cloud portfolio.  What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing regularly? You will partner with product management leaders to build the VMware Cloud vision and story. You will develop and execute go-to-market plans to evangelize and drive adoption for key new VMware Cloud portfolio capabilities with customers. You will develop a deep understanding of the Cloud Infrastructure markets for on-premises and cloud environments, identify customer goals, challenges, buying behaviors, and sales motions, and define the corresponding go-to-market strategies. You will develop positioning and messaging for the VMware Cloud portfolio and broadly CIBG SaaS/subscription offerings that resonate with customers, communicating product features/capabilities in terms and categories that customers understand, care about, and are willing to pay for You will deliver key storylines to enable field sales, partners, and customers. You will launch new product releases and features/enhancements and be the key central 'launch owner' SME guiding stakeholders across different functional teams (e.g., communications, enablement, services, alliances, product management, sales, channel partners, and engineering) You will deliver sessions at tech conferences, webcasts, executive briefings to customers and prospects. You will partner with corporate/demand marketing teams to directly influence and execute marketing campaign efforts that lead to marketing and sales pipeline expansion. You will drive/support joint marketing initiatives with select VMware Cloud portfolio technology and OEM Partners You will innovate with key stakeholders on blog and community engagement strategy. You will support analyst briefings and press briefings and work with tech evangelists. You will create outbound marketing materials, including white papers, blogs, presentations, data sheets, web content, videos, social media, sales tools, webinars, and training materials.  What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like? The Hiring Manager for this role is the Director of Product Marketing, responsible for the VMware Cloud portfolio. This is a fast-paced, dynamic environment and team that interfaces with a wide variety of teams and functions in VMware across multiple workstreams and key initiatives. We adapt quickly to changing business requirements, rapidly prioritize, and move with conviction to drive initiatives.  What is the required knowledge & skills for this role? 6+ years of work experience in product marketing, product management, or equivalent experience in the enterprise software technology industry, with expertise in product launch. Strong understanding of the cloud marketplace Experience and proven expertise in delivering enterprise software as a service/subscription offerings. Experience enabling or engaging with enterprise-class sales teams and channels. Demonstrated expertise in analyzing complex information and developing effective strategies to achieve desired outcomes You have demonstrated the ability to develop creative/non-traditional solutions. A skilled storyteller who possesses the ability to create captivating visions and narratives that engage and enthrall their audience Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate technology features into business benefits.
