If you enjoy working with a tech savy, fast-moving and highly technical group of engineers to reach your fullest potential then CIBG vSphere Solutions team is a great opportunity to explore !Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?Within 30 days of joining, you will become familiar with the ESXi Lifecycle, understand the vSphere product, it features, ESXi, vCenter build and packaging aspects, gain hands-on experience with product deployment and operations, start to learn the usecases around ESXi lifecycle.Within 60 days, you will get familiar with test frameworks, release cycles, bug / review tools, troubleshoot test failures, triage bugs, fix test automation issuesWithin 90 to 180 days, Work on Test strategy for complex bug fixes or minor features, independently represent team and work with different functional teams, collaborate with cross functional/product teams, release management, product management and product development teams.Within 6 to 9 months, Deliver a high quality release, get familiar with end to end customer use cases for VMware On-prem vSphere lifecycle scenarios and be the go-to person with SME for impact.Develop end-to-end customer usecases based on learning customer configuration through field issues or case study. Deploy (install/upgrade) of complex customer like environments and also collaborate with development team to debug customer usecases. Design and automate end-to-end usecases to run in the continuous integrated pipelines.Continuous learning on the job, not limited to vSphere, also beyond other products and solutions in SDDC, vSphere+ vSAN+, NSX, Workload Control Pane, etc.Be an active member of vSphere solution ESXi lifecycle team with growth mindset, thereby helping the team to grow and learn from other team members as well.The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?vSphere Solutions team is seeking a passionate, strong Lead Engineer to customer focus End-to-End vSphere Life cycle team that would bring in the value of product quality through customer experience. Life cycle being the key success in any product delivery, deployment, it is important to maintain the quality across and various configurations that will allow VMware vSphere to seamlessly deploy or upgrade in any customer environments regardless of On-premise or On-Cloud. The skills we are looking out for are –Working knowledge on vSphere, especially ESXi install/upgrade hands-on experience using VMware Update manager or vSphere life Cycle Manager.This opportunity enables you to work on complex configurations, reproduce complex customer problems and collaborate with development/functional teams to debug the customer issues.Engineer will also get an opportunity to design and automate new usecases based on the field issues and/or key customer case studies.Experience with different operating systems and expertise in Linux based operating systems, PowerCLI, shell commands and scripting.Strong coding skills (Java Testng and/or Python), with 5-6 years of working experience on Rest APIs. Need to Automate end-to-end usecases and integrate into CI/CD pipeline.Experience in Data center deployment and exposure to deploy and handle various mix of hardware like servers, storage and I/O devices and server knowledge from different Enterprise vendors (Dell, HPE, Lenovo) etc.Initiate and drive cross team/functional activities that help in improving technical expertise among the teams. Drive Initiatives & Innovations that helps drive new solutions/features/processes and/or efficiency improvements.Participate in bug triage activities; handle bugs, drive the activities (repro and/or fix validation) for the bug to get a closureAbility to self-learn software products and features by reading manuals and also trying hands-on.8 - 12 Years of experience in an equivalent role.What is the leadership like for this role?
