If you’re looking for a role that will challenge you to think critically while exhibiting excellent analytical and communications skills, then this role is for you.Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?The primary objective of this role is to create financial models, analyze business results, and help synthesize what it means for our leadership team.Within 30 days, you will become competent with VMware’s product offerings and the Corporate FP&A team’s key objectives and deliverables.Within 90 days, pair with analysts to deliver financial analysis and reporting for quarter end.Within 180 days own your own deliverables for forecast and quarter end cycles. Create new models and analysis to help improve our teams processes and value creation.The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?As a Financial Analyst you will work on a variety of high impact tasks within our Corporate FP&A Spend team in Costa Rica:Create financial models and analyze monthly forecasting, annual planning, for VMware’s spending, CAPEX and headcount drivers.Develop a deep understanding of business landscape collaborate with team members to drive enhancements and automation of recurring analytics deliverables.Facilitate ad-hoc reporting projects to deepen our understanding of cross-functional results spending results.Quarterly close activities and measuring performance against plan.Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance Business Units and other relevant stakeholders in the company.Identify and operationalize areas of processes enhancements in partnership with IT and Finance Business Units.What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?The hiring manager for this role is a Manager of Corporate FP&A based in Costa Rica. He is passionate about working in tech and providing the best support in terms of financial analysis and processes to our stakeholders inside and outside of Finance organizations. As a leader, his goal is to drive high-quality financial analysis to help build a remarkable brand for the broader Corporate FP&A Spending team located around the globe; while creating a welcoming team environment where people can grow and develop.The greater Corporate FP&A team is distributed in India, United States and Costa Rica. We are a team of highly motivated, hard-working finance professionals, and we emphasize collaboration and mutual respect.Where is this role located?Flexible: this role is based out of VMware’s Costa Rica office and open to candidates in the surrounding area.
