Job Title: Principal EngineerDepartment: StructuralResponsibilitiesMake calculations and designs within a multidisciplinary team, both at the quotation and project stages; in line with the requirements/wishes of the client and the applicable legal requirements.Make calculations and basic designs of complete systems or components of a systemResponsible for detail structural analysis & design of onshore and offshore type projects.Responsible for structural design of Operating, Lifting & Transportation conditions.Responsible for the detailed design report with relevant connection design to include.Review and assess of both internal and external calculations and designsMake specification review for the client specifications and countries standard documents.Prepare BOD (Basis of Design) for the Structural inputs considered for design.Make assumptions for projects when required to suite the project deadline requirements.Responsible for the steel connection design for shear and moment types.During fabrication process and delivery of the systems:Provide technical support or participate with the construction team.Provide cost effective solutions for the site problems.After delivery of the system, participate in meetings for any troubleshooting actions that may be requiredResponsible for checking engineering documentation of the structural design and drawings.Takes ownership of design and decides on details where requiredTasksSalesSupport sales team for preliminary structural design to make a good quote.Project Making the detailed design structural calculations for different types of steel structures like skid package, FPSO module, Pipe rack design, Equipment foundation design.Making the detailed steel connection design to include the Lifting Lug calculations, Skid break connection design, Beam splices connections, Foundation connection.Taking ownership of model reviews both internal and externalResponsible for the Structural specification detailed review and its input to work on the structural design calculation and report preparation.Handling structural design changes in piping and equipment lay-outs due to client comments, stress calculations or modified vendor information and informing all relevant parties of these changesChecking documents related to fabrication like GAF (General Arrangement Frame), DDF (Detail Drawing Frame), DDS (Handrail & Ladder drawings), GAL (General Arrangement of Lifting) which are made by draftsmen.Incorporating multiple discipline input into the Structural design calculations and 3D model.Participate in project Kick off, 3D model review and close-out meeting.R&DParticipate in R&D projectsDepartmentDevelop company standardsEducation / experience:BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Civil / Structural with at least 12 - 16 years of relevant work experience.Essential Job Functions:Structural analysis and design capabilitySteel connection design in Eurocode, America and British code.Well versed with codes IS, AISC, API, API, DNV and NORSOK. Design exposure with STAAD-Pro,Navisworks proficiencyAUTO CAD ProficiencyOther Skills / Abilities:Design calculations and Detailing of structural elements.Well conversant with Design and structural codes (Indian and International codes).
