In this team, you’ll be working with architects, peer developers, product managers, and QAs to deliver enterprise solutions for our customers crafted to meet the needs of today's global business!Within Workday HCM, the Compensation Core team owns the common foundation for how customers manage their employee's compensation in different regions/countries. Specifically, we:provide a framework for our customers to build their compensation structure as a guideline to recruit, reward and retain their talentsparticipate in the business transactions coming from other parts of the Workday business workflows, such as Hire, Change Job, and Terminationsecure employee's compensation data with Workday's security frameworkenable point-in-time reporting for customers to audit their employee's compensation plan assignmentintegrate with payroll through APIs and web servicesAbout the RoleAre you a senior software development engineer or architect that wants to be at the top of your game? With your talent, we'll continue winning our game in the cloud!As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tackle complex problems, which comes with developing and delivering global mission critical enterprise software using your expertise in design, coding, algorithms, and complexity analysis. Responsibilities:Lead a scrum team for design and developmentCollaborate with the Product Manager and QA counterparts on functional design and analysis of requirementsArchitect, design and develop a product in a metadata-driven development environmentDesign and develop robust, efficient and maintainable code using an OO framework and class modeling Create and maintain reliable unit and system level tests that will run on our CD pipelineTroubleshoot customer reported issuesAnalyzes application performance using various tools and techniquesSolve challenging problems in an application related to performance, scalability, and resilienceMentor and learn from other team members through pair programming, code reviews, knowledge sharing, hackathons, etcTake initiative, exhibit creative-thinking, have the drive to turn ideas into reality, and have a passion for user experienceAbout You Basic Qualifications:10+ years of experience as a software development engineer delivering scalable web applications or SaaS solutionsObject-Oriented (OO) design and development experience in a language such as Java, Scala, C#, C++, Python, XpressO, etc.Experience with design patterns, class modeling, and UML technology.Strong working knowledge of design and analysis of software for performance and scalabilityExperience with design and development of SOAP and/or REST web services Experience with unit testing frameworks like JUnit, NUnit and/or other test-driven development tools.Familiar with agile development methodologiesMust be a collaborative team player with good verbal and written communication skillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar relevant degreeOther Qualifications:Experience in building large scale enterprise business applications (in the area of HCM/ERP is preferred)3+ years of experience working on Web frameworks like J2EE, .NETExperience working on analyzing and debugging Performance logs is a huge plusExperience with XML and integration technologies is a plusExperience writing complex queries in databases like MySQL, NoSQLMetadata-driven definitional development experience As a federal contractor, Workday is requiring all new hires to verify that they are fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 within 72 hours of beginning employment with Workday, consistent with applicable law. Workday is an equal opportunity employer.
