We do it with a spirit of inclusion and trust acting as 'One VMware' to help our customers win.What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?SEBU’s telco product marketing team is seeking a talented Senior Product Marketing Manager (PMM) who will drive the adoption of our telco cloud solutions through subscription and SaaS models and creating successful business outcomes for CSPsPMMs in the SEBU telco team lead cross-functional teams, setting the overall vision for product go-to-market strategy, positioning, messaging, needle-moving collaterals, and influencing many teams towards common goals. As a core PMM team member, you will work closely with the business and pricing strategy team, telco product managers, and telco sales teams to drive the marketing strategy to evangelize the importance of subscription and SaaS purchasing model to our CSP customers with product marketing materials.The SEBU telco team partners with the world’s leading CSPs to drive cloud technologies into their core network, edge, and RAN environments. The approach is to leverage cloud infrastructure platforms across multi-cloud from core, edge, RAN to public cloud. Our telco cloud solutions have been deployed by 100+ CSPs globally, modernizing and transforming their monolithic networks to be open, software-defined, and programmable. One of the key corporate-level initiatives is to scale our subscription and SaaS offerings, including SEBU’s telco cloud solutions. This role puts you in the driver’s seat as you lead the transformation of our business models and help shape the future of the telecommunications industry. Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?First 30 days of employment: Become familiar with VMware’s telco cloud solutions/portfolio and their current pricing models along with the conventional buying patterns/behaviors of CSPs. Understand customer needs and messaging & positioning requirements.First 60 days: Familiarize yourself with key members of the core and broader team, primary cross-functional groups, high priority initiatives, and become comfortable with the operating cadence of the organization. Identify a roadmap to meet key business objectives for your role as a telco Sr. PMM.First 180 days: Start executing on the prioritized plan with impactful initiatives to amplify all areas of your role, including impactful messaging of the subscription and SaaS models, use cases, key collateral, sales and partner enablement content, and joint-marketing projects with technology partners. What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?You will identify customer goals, challenges, buying patterns/behaviors, and sales motions to define the corresponding go-to-market strategies.You will successfully proliferate new subscription and SaaS models for VMware’s telco solutions deployed in CSPs’ networks and lead successful execution of the subscription/SaaS plan across functional teams.You will develop positioning and messaging that resonate with CSPs by highlighting the benefits of the usage-centric product consumption, matching to the key product capabilities.You will define product pricing and packaging for VMware’s telco solutions that optimize revenue generation.You will create core marketing content, such as presentations, data sheets, blogs, web content, videos, social media, sales tools, webinars, and training materials, needed to reach our sales, CSP customers, and partners with a consistent and relevant message.You will perform competitive analysis of other vendors’ business models, pricing strategy, and positioning.You will collect market data from internal and external sources to share with executives and product management.You will acquire deep customer knowledge and buying patterns/behaviors through market research, segmentation analysis, and 1:1 customer interviews.You will provide strategic and tactical support and enablement for sales and business development teams.You will create outbound marketing materials including white papers, blogs, presentations, data sheets, web content, videos, social media, sales tools, webinars and training materialsWhat is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?The Hiring Manager for this role is the Director of Product Marketing, responsible for the telco cloud infrastructure and platform product family. This is a fast paced, dynamic environment and team that interfaces with a wide variety of teams and functions in VMware across multiple workstreams and key initiatives. We adapt quickly to changing business requirements, rapidly prioritize, and move with conviction to drive initiatives.What is the required knowledge & skills for this role?At least 5-7 years of experience in the field of software product, especially focusing on the customers’ buying patterns/behaviors using the consumption-based model, at an enterprise software company or large-scale network equipment provider.Domain experience and marketing expertise targeting CSPs’ core networks, RAN, automation, and service assurance needs.Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate technology features into business benefits. Previous experience interacting with and presenting to C-level executives.Aptitude to quickly come up to speed on new technology concepts. Passion to evangelize disruptive new technologies with new business models.
