The Worldwide Consulting Center (WWCC) CoE (Engineering) team is part of VMware Professional Services Organization and is dedicated to the success of the customer and their digital strategy.As a Senior Project Manager in WWCC CoE, you will have the opportunity to join our growing project delivery practice, focusing on automation and integration projects. Become a member of our collaborative and supportive work environment and help us drive innovation!Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?As a Senior Project Manager, you will use your experience in technical project management and customer facing positions to plan, coordinate, track and manage project(s) to successful completion.You will work directly with resource managers, technical staff and business subject matter experts to orchestrate project delivery to ensure projects are delivered and executed in alignment with the overall project plan, driving customer outcomes, and customer satisfaction. This will provide you with the opportunity to showcase your leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.Within 30 days of employment, you will complete your onboarding trainings to understand our processes and familiarize with the tools. Within 60 days of employment, you will develop and maintain project plans including charter, scope, resource plans, budget forecasts, and will manage schedule, budget, scope, and risk.What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?Provide clear and timely communication regarding the status of the project – schedule, budget, progress to date, risks etc. - to relevant stakeholdersFollow VMware’s project management methodology and ensure that projects adhere to the defined methodology Engage with Sales and Account teams on new opportunities Work with Development team, Quality Engineers, System Engineers, and Technical Writers to ensure project successDrive continuous improvement of project processes – methodology, templates, best practices etc. based on lessons learned from projectsDirect and monitor work efforts on a daily basis, identify resource needs, perform quality review and escalate functional, quality and timeline issues appropriatelyOnboard new members and mentor junior members with the day-to-day project activities (time logging and submission, project specific execution workflow, task assignment, interactions and etc.)Maintain up to date knowledge of the entire VMware product lineHelp document best practices and lessons learned in developing and deploying VMware solutions and feed them into our knowledge base for reuse by the team, customers and partnersTravel up to 25% may be requiredRequires business level fluency (speaking, reading and writing) in English and Spanish What are the benefits and perks of working at VMware?You and your loved ones will be supported with a competitive and comprehensive benefits package.
