You will have opportunities to participate in projects engaging expert advisors to ensure compliance with new tax laws, new locations, and new routes to market.Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?Indirect Tax ComplianceWithin 30 days, you will understand the company structure, various products and routes to market, processes for the preparation and filing of the indirect tax returns for 50+ international entities.Success in 60 days would see you taking responsibility for region of countries so assist with day-to-day queries as well as being a support on other projects.After 90 days, you will be expected to be the indirect tax lead on projects, investigate and respond to queries from the business, the tax implications of new products and route to market, respond on audit queries and participate on projects such as new locations, new taxes and system enhancement projects.This is an exciting position that will ensure you are always challenged and learning.The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?End to end responsibility for managing indirect tax related advisory matters for international countries Keep informed of global indirect tax developments and evaluate on necessary business and process changes that need to happen as a result of such a change Define indirect tax requirements for new programs and products, including making decisions on necessary business and process changes that need to happenSupport the wider indirect tax team on compliance related matters as required and assist with external auditsParticipate on cross-functional project calls and provide the relevant VAT input including coordinate with external advisor on various indirect tax issues that arise What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?The successful candidate be part of team of 9 and will report to the Director of Indirect Tax based in Cork. The team is part of the wider International Finance team who are responsible for the compliance of VMware’s 50+ International entities including statutory audits, Equity, M&A integrations & special projects. The team are primarily based in Cork but also have team members in India, Israel and Brazil.The team is one that strives for best practices and compliant processes.
