You can be a part of our growth story as VMware is the only company perfectly positioned to provide the multi-cloud platform for all the applications our customers need to accelerate their business today, and in the future.  Joining VMware gives you long-term opportunities to expand your skills with annual education and/or training reimbursements, job rotation programs, subscriptions to online training platforms and employee networking groups.  Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? Become a Senior Solution Engineer capable of demonstrating the security solutions, lead product trials and act as a trusted advisor.  Within 30 days: Complete onboarding and become familiar with VMware as a company, including various teams and processes used. Gain understanding how our solutions and use cases fit into the VMware Vision and Strategy.  Within 60 days: Gain knowledge of the Carbon Black Cloud product range with the ability to deliver product demonstrations to prospects and assist in product trials (POV). Gain understanding how we can help customers secure their environments and the unique value they can get from our solutions and services. You will create new whiteboard presentations and deliver content in your own unique way.  Within 90 days: Gain knowledge of the Carbon Black OnPremise product range with the ability to deliver product demonstrations and lead product trials (POV) of all products.  Further: You will become a trusted advisor and partner with the sales team to drive business. You will develop scenario-based solution demonstrations based upon real world examples. You will establish solid working relationships with other VMware teams like the Channel Team, Technical Support, Professional Services and other Specialist teams. The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? This person will play the role of technical advisor and product evangelist. The Senior Solution Engineer is responsible for building technical understanding and credibility during the sales process and positioning professional services where appropriate to ensure success of VMware Carbon Black’s solutions. As part of a sales pursuit team, the Sr. Solution Engineer works closely with sales, marketing, and product management to pursue leads, demonstrate product capability, inspire confidence, and effectively communicate the power of VMware Carbon Black solutions. As part of the solution engineering team, you will be: - Partnering with Field Sales to pursue new business opportunities and support all aspects and phases of the VMware Carbon Black sales process Evangelize and demonstrate VMware Carbon Black's products to internal core team, prospects, customers, and partners via presentations and product demos Manage all aspects of prospect evaluation process including: Properly scope and define evaluation goals and Win Drivers; Perform demonstrations and proof of concepts of VMware Carbon Black products Educate on operational and organizational aspects of implementation process Work independently and with VMware Carbon Black Technical Support and Engineering to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner Respond to technical objections and create competitive differentiation Respond to RFI’s and RFP’s Document evaluation progress and results in SFDC This role is dedicated to the Public Sector & Enterprise customers in Japan.   What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like? This role reports to the Security Solution Engineering Leader Tomo Okubo, who has been in the company about 5 years.
