You will be working on large scale deployments, cloud deployments that keeps you always engaged and gives you ample learning opportunities. You will have the opportunity to work on protocols SCSI, NVMe and iSCSI. This role will also allow you to work on clustering technologies like Windows failover clustering, Redhat clustering and Oracle RAC.If you are passionate about storage, virtualisation, and cloud infrastructure then you are right at home.Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?Within your first 3 months· You will be expected to have good understanding of how ESX storage stack works and its interaction with various ESXi components like filesystems and device drivers.· You will be engaged in team meetings and test teams to understand build and test infrastructure.After 3 months· You will be responsible for triaging and fixing product issue, supporting customer calls and fixing customer issues.· You will do peer code reviews and design reviews.· You will participate in design discussions and development activities for various Core-storage features.After 6 months +· You will be responsible for designing and delivering features.· You will engage with and collaborate with PMs and other teams, will participate in design discussion, architecture reviews etc.· You will be regularly evaluated on the quality of the product you create and the code you write to ensure continued advancement of your technical skills in an environment that looks to expand them.The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?Your regular activities may be modified to suit your professional strengths, but, you can expect a variety of the following assignments:· Design and develop the new features in Core-storage Infrastructure and related areas.· Product maintenance involving triaging and fixing product issues.· Participate in customer calls and pager duty calls for cloud storage.What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?This position reports to the Senior Manager of the core storage, an experienced software engineer and manager who has many years of engineering and management experience. The team consists of highly competent engineers with nice blend and balance of seniority. We focus on iterative development, both of software and our software development practices.You will initially be part an established team that has a wide range of core platform responsibilities, but the expectation is that you will help blaze a new trail for the team and organisation. This is a great opportunity for someone who likes to start new things and put their mark on a team and company.Where is this role located? Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager.
