This role a software developer role in Skyline Health Diagnostics development team. Candidate is responsible for development of new features, for maintaining current code and delivering it to internal / external customers and partners. You will participate in our daily stand-up meetings and deliver on roadmap items committed during quarterly planning meeting. You will also work on new product features, fix bugs and support on premise customers/partners who have adoption SHD to fulfill all their diagnostics need for vmware products.This role expects proficiency in programming skills mainly in Java, good understanding operating systems concepts, proficiency in Python scripting. Awareness of software as a service model, cloud ecosystem and/or containers, Kubernetes, monitoring tools etc. is desirable. You will work with various teams like vSphere product Engineering, System testing and SRE for cloud deliverables. You are expected to innovate and add value added services for monitoring, debugging and write automation scripts for daily jobs.Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months, you will work toward completing?Within first 30 days -Ramp up on vSphere product knowledge, development and build environment.Ramp up on SHD product and its core components.Within 90 days you will start writing health checks and signatures for vSphere based on inputs received from support and field teamsAfter 90 days -Contribute to feature development, testing and bug fixing.You will participate in various meetings and collaborate within and other teams for feature development.You will develop API automation for new features being delivered to ensure SHD delivery at monthly cadence.Contribute to various initiatives across the BU.You must be adaptable, think fast on your feet, have good instincts based on prior experience, and be ambitious to take on more responsibility.The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?This role will expect OS, Java and Python scripting and automation for day-to-day operations.Design, develop and testing of new features.Resolve on premise customer issues and bugs.Review key performance indicators for opportunities to improve the product.Reduce human intervention through automation.Reduce mean time to detect through monitoring improvements.What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?This position reports to the Director of vSphere Solution team. You will work with software engineers and technical lead having many years of engineering experience. The team consists of highly competent engineers with nice blend and balance of seniority. We focus on iterative development and delivery for our products following best software development practices.You will initially be part an established team that has a wide range of core platform responsibilities, but the expectation is that you will help blaze a new trail for the team and organization.
