It is fully integrated with VMware vCenter Server and the vSphere Web Client. vSphere Replication delivers flexible, reliable, and cost-efficient replication to enable data protection and disaster recovery. vSphere Replication protects millions of virtual machines and is a key component of VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and VMware Site Recovery service (VSR) for VMware Cloud on AWS (VMC).Data Protection is a strategic area of investment for VMware, and we are looking to expand the already exceptional product and team.As a part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work with other world class innovators and deliver a highly scalable, enterprise class, easy-to-use solution as a SaaS offering.Given the global ownership model, you will take ownership of high-stake projects and components and deliver them with superior quality.We have a very collaborative culture, and you will interact with technical and product leaders at one of our world-class offices and enjoy participating in networking, community service, and career development events.Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?You will be a major contributor to develop:vSphere Replication data-path layer and help build features in C++ at a rapid pace without compromising product quality.vSphere Replication Management Server (VRMS) using Java back-end and multi-threading.In this role you will also get the team debug and resolve issues, service incidents, customer concerns and identify roadmap items to strengthen the current product. You will collaborate with various engineering teams and contribute to the further growth of the team.As a Sr. Manager of you will also:Have regular 1:1 with the direct reports mentoring and coaching them and help them towards their career goals.Work with the team on sprint planning and backlog grooming.Participate and contribute to the design and architecture meetings for various capabilities and features.Work with service (SaaS) development team on their needs.Continuously look for ways to improve the operational burden on the team.Lead efforts to continuously improve the product, including monitoring customer feedback, identifying opportunities for improvement, and driving the implementation of new features and functionality.Manage the product as a service, including monitoring and reporting on key metrics, identifying, and addressing issues, and driving continuous improvement.Drive the development process, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and release.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, system test, and customer support.Collaborate effectively with engineering teams in USA, India and China.What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? As part of vSphere Replication development team, you will enjoy solving complex problems, drive product enhancement and help build the next set of capabilities.Be a role model for the team.Own the design, development, testing, delivery, and support of the vSphere Replication components.Engage with various teams within VMware to collect requirements for new features, participate in design and code reviews across the teams.Lead, grow and motivate world-class software development team.Participate in strategic planning and management for product portfolios, investment, resources, product releases, etc.Work with product management, product marketing, partners & customers in the development of product roadmap, product requirements, in new product offerings or functionality, as well as improving existing products and services.Drive high quality and on-time delivery of products throughout the software development lifecycle.Work closely with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team and other engineering teams withing the group.Strong leadership skills, with experience managing high-performing teams.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.What is the leadership like for this role?
