What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for? You will build quality management strategies and systems for waterfall and continuous integration / continuous delivery approaches. You will act as a consultant to the customer by understanding and fulfilling their requirements, while communicating clearly (in English) with architects, developers, DevOps, quality engineers and project managers. Your test cases should be following best practices, be well executed and documented. Build, set up, integrate, and configure tools and platforms to accomplish the company Test Strategy. You will prepare test plans, test cycles and test cases for Acceptance, System and Integration testing and applicable automation around. This might consist of all or part of functional, non-functional (performance, security, availability, etc.), environment, components, libraries, packages, API, etc. Plan and manage the quality throughout the entire execution lifecycles, including the execution of test strategy, plans, cycles and test cases manual or automated. Contribute to and control the quality of the requirements. You will collaborate with and consult end customers, partners, and software development teams. Customer expectations and alignment management regarding testing strategy. Monitoring, control and reporting on the quality management process. Identify product defects, track and report them, and participate in optionally managing regular reviews and continuous improvement.What Other Skills are an Advantage?Solid understanding of the software development and testing lifecycle, DevOps practices, Agile (Scrum, Kanban in particular) and waterfall processes and methodologies.Experience with virtualization, IP networking and administering Linux & Windows operating systems.Experience with manual and automation software testing ideally for custom software development.Experience with setting up and working with Cloud Native and DevOps technologies, principles and practices like self-service, source control management, definition managed infrastructure, CI/CD, and etc.Experience in troubleshooting technical across the OSI layers ideally.Excellent communication skills in English both speaking and writing.What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?We have teams that work for EMEA, Americas, and Asia Pacific/Japan. Each geography is having an engineering manager with over 10 years of experience on average in leadership. Prior to joining CoE our managers have worked in other R&D units of VMware or as leaders of world class IT companies.Each team is of 10 developers having a team lead reporting to a manager.
