Which means your work is essential for transforming everywhere.Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?Your first 6 months will be a whirlwind of learning about the various parts of the code base you will be enhancing or with which you will be interfacing. You will get to know your team as well as teams in adjacent areas whom which you will frequently interact. You will become familiar with coding standards and how to build, run and test your code. Your assignments will encourage you to learn by doing with the support of experienced mentors to keep you on track.By the end of your first year, you will feel comfortable and empowered as a senior contributor to design and help lead significant projects and feature enhancements.The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?As a member of the virtual machine monitor team, you will be working on the control layer software that ties the hypervisor to higher level management stack. Your code will abstract details of the hardware platform and present this abstraction to the vCenter management application as well as the user interface layer. In this role, we will be looking for the following skills:Experience with enterprise level management software desirable.Knowledge/Experience writing and maintaining concurrent and distributed systems.DB knowledge a plus.Networking knowledge a plus.Linux/C/C++/Python knowledge desirable.Experience/Knowledge writing REST and SOAP APIs a plus.What is the leadership like for this role? The actual offer will be based on the role, location, and individual candidate experience. Bonus, commission, and/or equity may be eligible for this position.
