This opportunity is to join the Cloud Storage Services team, and work with a highly talented, dynamic engineers to build storage features for various cloud providers. We are seeking a test engineer, for working on validating and qualification of our cloud service features. You will closely work with other engineers and product manager to understand the requirements and deliver storage centric features in VMC’s SaaS layer.Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?As a test engineer, you will be expected to become skilful in VMware’s test strategy, test methodology as well as test framework, and together deliver high quality features in a timely manner.You will be evaluated based on the quality of your test design for feature completion. Sense of ownership, self-motivation, effective collaboration with team members will be a criteria for evaluation.What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science/computer engineering.You have very good sense in understanding modern software design in both microservices and on-premise applications.You have very good understanding in test methodology and could design relevant test cases to cover functionalityYou will contribute to automation work based on VMware test infrastructure with Java/python languagesYou will contribute in supporting customer issues, reproduce issue and validate solutionsWhat is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?This position reports to Zhou Huang, Sr. Engineering Manager at VMware, an experienced test engineer and manager. The team is part of a global VMware storage test team with very experienced cloud service and storage field test members. The team has very active cross site collaborations with developer engineers and other test groups and is well recognized in both technical and execution.
