The Worldwide Consulting Centers (WWCC), which are part of the global VMware Professional Services Organization, are committed to the success of the customer and their digital strategy. The WWCC streamlines the journey for customers to become digital businesses that deliver better experiences to their customers and employees. The Delivery Consulting practice allows customers and regional field services teams to take advantage of the Worldwide Consulting Centers’ focus on the technical skills for Deployment and Design methodologies, overall structure, and strategies for seamlessly delivering services from global locations (offshore and nearshore). The Senior Consultant is an advanced/experienced level technology specialist and subject matter expert on Virtual Cloud Networking portfolio, providing customer guidance by facilitating technical workshops, creation of designs, and implementation of use cases into high-quality solutions. In addition to customer-facing responsibilities, Senior Consultants also provide technical input to service offering evaluation, customer success initiative, pre-sales, and drive best practices in the form of document/White Paper creation.Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?You will be expected to effectively work as part of a wider project team or independently act as technical lead on migration engagementsYou should be able to identify process gaps and work with the team to address them Maintain current, high-level technical knowledge of the entire VMware product portfolio and future product direction and expert-level knowledge of the Virtual Cloud Networking franchise for NSX-t and NSX-ALB product linesTake ownership and accountability for individual deliverablesProactively define project requirements/issues/constraints/risks and address them with PMs You should be able to effectively collaborate within different product workstreams within the team and with Business units, identify current gaps, and find a way to bridge them The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?Collaborate with cross-functional VMware project teams which could consist of VMware pre-sales architects, engineers, product management, consulting, and support staffWork as part of a wider project team or independently act as technical lead on migration engagementsConfidently gather use case requirements and creation of low-level designs while functioning as an advisory resource for “Best Practices” and driving adoption of VMware solutions.Develop use cases into high-quality solutions in your specialist areaActively demonstrate commercial awareness and stay within the scope of the contracted workTake ownership and accountability for individual deliverablesDefine project requirements/issues/constraints with PMsMake accurate impact assessments, and raise, implement, close and roll back plans when requiredDesign, Deployment, and Migration knowledge on NSX, NSX-ALB (Advance load balancer), vRNI, and SDWANAssist in the development of our service offerings as well as developing migration content, best practices, and white papersMust enjoy working with leading-edge technology across GeographiesUnderstand and articulate the impact of network virtualization and security on a customer’s physical IP network, operations, and future network and networking security architecturesPlan and lead virtualized network infrastructure migration engagements, implementations, roll-outs, and migrations, including hands-on implementation of NSXMaintain deep technical and business knowledge of cloud computing and networking applications, industry directions, and trendsEnd-to-end deployments on at least one NSX ALB (Avi) integrated ecosystems like OpenStack, ESXi, OpenShift, AWS, Mesos DC/OS, Docker, Azure, GCP Previous experience with ADC deployments for F5 LTM, Citrix NetScaler, A10 Thunder, Brocade/PulseSecure vTM, Cisco ACE products Expertise in GSLB offerings from F5, Cisco and Citrix is a big plusWhat is the leadership like for this role?
