Search JobsJob DescriptionSr. Solution Architect The Elevator Pitch: Why will you enjoy this new opportunity?This Sr Solution Architect position provides a unique opportunity to operate in a technical capacity in a heavily cross-functional role. You will have opportunities to solve some of the most complex technical challenges facing our customers directly. You will have the opportunities to work directly with Product Management and Engineering in the identification and resolution of issues, as well as learning and providing feedback and enablement on new features prior to reaching the market. You will have opportunities to work closely with counterparts within the Technical Sales Org, to help provide enablement content, best practices, and technical content creation. This role allows you to have autonomy to work within those relative areas of coverage based on personal expertise and interest and acquire new skills along the way!Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? Assist Solution Engineers with technical challenges facing Customers and Prospects - Within the first 30 days it is expected that you will be able to help in a customer-facing capacity with technical challenges, or best practices, for some of our largest customers or prospectsWork cross-functionality - Within the first several months it is expected that you will engage in conversation with Engineering, Product Management, and Technical Product Management in upcoming releases, identification and resolution of problems within the product, and lend a customer-facing prospective to design discussions.Technical Enablement - Technical enablement can span a wide variety of avenues, from building the backend lab environments for SE demos, to direct product training, to use-case and script development, to any sort of technical content creation, aimed at bettering the knowledge, and technical acumen, of the Technical Sales Org.What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? Knowledge of Carbon Black products, and the ability to effectively elucidate how they work – this will be needed for all 3 of the aforementioned performance outcomes.Strong problem-solving skills – the vast majority of work will pertain to solving technical challenges, both in an external and internal capacityEffective Communication Skills – you will regularly be communicating to different cross-functional teams, as well as presenting to Solution Engineers on new product features, projects, or various enablement content on team meetings.Time Management - this will be critical in the role, as there is a large project-based component, and the role is relatively autonomous with some interrupt-driven work should technical challenges arise. Thus, effective time management is critical.Going to Conferences to speak to customers, or present on topics – this is not a requirement, but a recommended skill-set What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?The manager for this position is Nicholas Comeau. Nick has over 7 years experience at Carbon Black, working as a Solution Engineer and then a Solution Architect, prior to taking over management of the team a little over a year ago. Creativity and a relaxed, and relatively informal, culture are important to maintaining a positive outlook in dealing with technical challenges and innovating existing processes. The team is a small team of specialists who are all self-starting individuals, with a wide variety of backgrounds and skill sets. While there are 3 primary segments of work spanning the role (noted above), how heavily you operate within each is dependent on your skill sets and, most importantly, your interests.
