As a key member of the DevOps team, you will be involved in writing code to help design and develop scalable infrastructure automation. You will own feature development, support other engineers, and contribute towards a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and exemplifying best practices. You will have the opportunity to work with experienced and passionate engineers across Atlanta, Bangalore, Beijing, Palo Alto, and Sofia. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? You develop a solid understanding of the WS1 Intelligence platform You demonstrate expertise in AWS and many of the relevant service offerings You are a valued resource for application developers, supporting them as they deploy new microservices and consume new AWS services You can effectively extend and modify the team’s infrastructure automation and orchestration You write high-quality code along with the unit tests and automation tests to exercise that codeYou are an integral part of the team’s on-call rotationsThe Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? You will use Ruby to develop and enhance custom infrastructure automation. You will utilize AWS services to support and scale the necessary infrastructure for dozens of microservices. You will own the implementation and deployment of new changes throughout the full software development life cycle.You will actively participate in code reviews of pull requests to help yourself and your teammates continuously improve.You will provide feedback and suggestions to help improve processes around DevOps, agile, and CI/CD.You will actively participate in retrospectives to help the team improve.What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?This role reports to Steven Haddox, the Senior Manager responsible for WS1 Intelligence DevOps. You’ll be working with Steven and other senior engineers to define and implement key initiatives. A high degree of ownership is key. If you see things that need to be done, advocate, help prioritize, and then get it done.Our team focuses on maintaining an excellent standard of reliability, stability, and data persistence while challenging ourselves to improve our processes, skills, and knowledge every day.
