We have a very collaborative culture, and you’ll interact with industry thought leaders at one of our world-class campuses and enjoy participating in networking, community service, and career development events. Job Role and Responsibilities:  Insights into your Role: The Scale-out Cloud File System (SCFS) team within VCDR is responsible for building a scalable, distributed file system in the cloud for our disaster recovery SaaS offering. SCFS enables the efficient storage of backups of the protected virtual machines in cloud storage and allows virtual machines to be recovered very quickly without a time-consuming data rehydration process. Our unique SCFS also enables us to build most advanced Ransomware Solution in the industry. The SCFS team consists of some of the best engineers in Silicon Valley and in India.  Responsibilities: We are looking for a senior engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and is an excellent team player. As a member of the team, you will work on various aspects of the cloud file system:  You will be responsible for the design, development, testing, delivery, and support of the Scale-out Cloud File System for VMware Cloud Disaster Recovery. You will be responsible for defining, designing, and developing new features to detect and recover from ransomware attacks, including sensors to help monitor / detect onset of the ransomware attack and improving recovery performance during the ransomware recovery.You will engage with various teams within VMware to collect requirements for new features, and design and develop them. You will work closely with the VMware Cloud team to integrate new features and capabilities. You will participate in design and code reviews across the team. Required Skills:  BS or higher in Computer Science with 10+ years of industry experience; MS or PhD are a bonus Highly proficient in C/C++Strong foundational knowledge in data structures, algorithms and problem solving skillsProficient with multi-threaded programming, synchronization Experience in building distributed systems Ability to build features at a rapid pace without compromising product quality Troubleshooting issues in both production and non-production environments Communicating and collaborating across all functional teams Self-motivated, results-oriented, and most importantly a team player Preferred Skills: Familiarity with storage and file system technologies Experience in SaaS and cloud platforms like AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Experience with ransomware detection and recovery, and AI/ML techniquesteamVCDRJoinVCDRJoinCloudStorage Equal Employment Opportunity Statement VMware is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
