Search JobsJob DescriptionVMWare’s Strategy & Transformation Office which is part of R&D India Site Leadership works with all key groups in India to drive priorities/initiatives aligned to VMware India Site Strategy & Corporate expectations to ensure we are improving the maturity of the India Organization year on year and creating value.The Programs / Projects being managed from this group are part of the priorities mapped to 4 major strategic pillars namely Customer & Innovation, Capability & Engagement, Brand & Eco-system, Compliance & Governance. This Programs / Projects tie into all major groups in India including R&D, IT, Global Support Services, Sales, HR, Finance, Legal, Business support functions and others.The Project Manager will have a wide span of responsibility/control, will manage a portfolio of engagements and/or multi-phased projects for key initiatives mapped to strategic priorities from time to time and be responsible to deliver them on-time and within budget keeping all policies, processes and guidelines in mind.Is expected to be able to interact with internal and external teams, partners & all stakeholders at various organizational levels in a strategic manner. The person in this role will holistically manage highly complex enterprise-level programs with multiple phases, interrelated work streams, across multiple stakeholders and delivery partners. The Project Manager is the single point of contact for the entire program of work and is responsible for the core teams deliverables with/without reporting relationship.This individual will structure and drive the execution of large, cross-functional initiatives of business technology enablement, process and policy improvement, including change management and confirmation of success objective realization.The role reports to the Leadership of Strategy & Transformation Team but has functional responsibilities to the Site Leadership & Related Program leaders / stakeholders.Note this is a individual contributor role as defined by the organization structure currently and the person should be hands-on experienced in all attributes of this job description to be eligible and make an impact.ResponsibilitiesPlanning & StrategyOversee business aspects of program by constructing of project teams, charters, project plans, contingencies, success metrics and ROI measurements Work cross-functionally to establish and manage appropriate team structure for successful delivery across impacted organizations.Project ExecutionManage all phases of program to success, including initiation, planning, definition, design, development, testing and deployment cyclesDrive definition of business solution concepts in partnership with IT and business constituentsAlign program with other VMware initiatives and manage cross project dependenciesDrive cross functional implementation of policies and proceduresStakeholder/Cross-Functional Team ManagementEstablish a clear RACI around project roles and responsibilities.Manage cross-functional project teams (IT, business, 3rd party vendors, etc.) in a matrix management frameworkEnsure successful working relationships among project teamsChange Management & CommunicationsFacilitate change management and communication planning activities through project lifecycleDrive regular forums to update business communities and steering committee on progress, status and issues Risk/Issue ManagementForesee, manage, and raise appropriate visibility to risks and issues.Drive resolution of any conflicts and escalate as needed to avoid roadblocks GovernanceHelp in establishing standards for program management (monitoring and governance) including processes, appropriate project controls, methodologies, metrics, reporting, and tools to ensure the development and use of program/project managementQualifications & ExperienceEducation/TrainingProject Management certification or equivalent (required)B.E degree; MBA or Masters (preferred)Process Excellence training (preferred)Strong Analytics backgroundExperience10+ years project related work experience4+ years’ experience leading major Programs/Projects in a complex, global corporate settingProject Management and SDLC lifecycle experience, waterfall and agile methodologies working within/with product groups is highly preferredFamiliarity with business domain-related technologies & platforms (eg.
