They collaborate closely with customers, leveraging their knowledge of VMware Tanzu products and Kubernetes to help client teams build, manage, and scale modern application platforms.Our Delivery Leads work closely with talented Product Managers, Architects and Engineers to cut through ambiguity, plan work, measure and prove value during impactful consulting engagements.They have an understanding of cloud native technologies, agile, lean, DevOps and SRE practices, along with how they can be applied in a world filled with legacy technologies and processes. We partnered with the customer on a programme of work for over 1 year, delivering incremental value from day 1.● Deploying Tanzu Application Platform for a major EU banking institution helping them transform their DevOps practices and path to production for their application team customers. Our team coached the infrastructure team, who were completely new to Kuberntes and Tanzu, on how best to be successful to drive forward it’s adoption.Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? ● 1st Day: You've had a great first day, met your manager and a couple of your peers and started collaborating together.● 1st Week: You have learned about our clients, tools, techniques, and your role within VMware. You feel well integrated into the Tanzu Labs team and understand how you’re a critical part of that. ● 1st Month: You’ve begun leading your first engagement.● 1st Quarter: You’ve helped client stakeholders become effective platform practitioners. You feel capable of adapting your style to the needs of your client and your delivery team. You’ve scaled up to running multiple client engagements in parallel.● 1st Year: You’ve succeeded in enabling customers to run a lot of applications on our Tanzu Platform. You've improved the skills and abilities of your client stakeholders, their organization and their teams so they can grow their platform themselves You’ve become an active member of our diverse community.The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? Daily life at Tanzu Labs will have you doing many or all of the following: ● Help your team understand the underlying strategy and problems as you collaborate on solutions. ● Collaborate regularly with VMware colleagues to close out new Tanzu Labs sales opportunities and transition them into delivery.● Act as our client liaison working closely with internal and external stakeholders to solve complex problems in uncertain environments using a combination of their business/domain knowledge and your skills. Coach customers on our approach all along the way.● Set the strategy and collaborate on the tactics with your team, keeping them informed and productive while removing roadblocks and shielding them from distractions outside of their control. ● Respond quickly and effectively to unanticipated events while effectively managing our people and our engagements through your knowledge and experience by making great decisions with guidance and support from leadership.● Be a crucial member of a team dedicated to helping multiple customers achieve their goals.● Enable the team of Tanzu practitioners and clients to build, modernize, and launch a custom software platform with and for our customers that transform their mission.● Advocate and drive consistency throughout for modern best practices like Lean and Agile that make digital transformation a reality while creating outcomes that are meaningful.● Ensure that we successfully deliver on the promise and health of our engagement by driving customer satisfaction, tracking financial performance, updating stakeholders on status and helping our people maintain proper work/life balance.● Represent Tanzu Labs in a variety of forums, ranging from being a speaker at large conferences to the trusted adviser for a single executive stakeholder.● You keep our people excited and engaged about our mission and their role in making it happen.What is the leadership like for this role? You should expect regular 1:1 meetings with your manager where they are focused on career planning and project support.Where is this role located?We are fortunate to be capable of running a strong business in a 100% remote working environment.However, we believe that the fastest way to build authentic relationships is in person. Our role as consultants requires us to work well with new teammates on many types of engagements. We navigate large customer organizations, facilitate team building and work towards shared goals. We’ve found that we can do this remotely when we have to, but it is faster when we are co-located. Kicking off customer engagements in-person also fosters happier and more productive remote days.
