This Site Reliability Engineer role in the Worldwide Consulting Center (WWCC) is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge of cloud technologies, automation, large customers and global culture. In this role you will have focus on improving speed, reliability, and quality of infrastructure services, apply software development & engineering principles and practices to infrastructure and cloud operations (iterative & agile approach), solve problems, and automate operations tasks. As a Site Reliability Engineer you will work closely with multiple R&D engineering organizations and several cross-functional teams in WWCC to drive innovation in product upgrades and delivery, orchestration and automation,  solve problems and manage production systems at scale. In the process, you will gain experience with the latest technologies in cloud and networking, collaborate closely with experts in these fields, experience first-hand the process of maintaining large cloud systems with multiple products and integrations, and work in an environment that provides adequate learning and career growth opportunities.Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for applying and evolution of VMware Cloud Foundation upgrade practice. You will partner with other technical engineers and teams to execute the upgrades at a scale. You will act as a consultant to our stakeholders and to the customer by understanding and fulfilling their upgrade requirements, while communicating clearly (in English) with architects, DevOps, quality engineers and project managers. Provided solutions and services should be following best practices, be well tested and documented. Site Reliability Engineer will advise customers on technical topics, take part in technical presentations and knowledge sharing.The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?Your regular activities may be modified to suit your professional strengths, but you can expect a variety of the following assignments: Participate in VMware Cloud Foundation upgrades at a large scaleBecome an expert in various VMware products – vCenter, NSX-V/T, ESXi, vSAN, vRealize Automation, vRealize Operations Manager and othersDrive customer upgrades, adoption, consumption, retention, and expansionPlan and Implement integration of extensible services and platformsWork closely with development teams to improve maintainability and reliability of servicesDevelop and maintain up-to-date, clear, and effective service operationsOwn and provide proactive support by participating customer upgrades.Identify, gather, analyze, and automate responses to key performance metrics, logs, and alertsHandle seamless upgrades of infrastructure and services through automationEnsure compliance of the Services with high security standards including inventory and access control monitoring and reportingWork outside business hours if requiredWhere is this role located?
