Amongst multiple vendors.Learn Fast, Trust each other, have Fun embodies the culture of the SASE Team – a market leader in the burgeoning SASE space.Job DescriptionReporting directly to the VP & General Manager for the SASE business, the Sr. Director of Product Management and Technical Marketing, SASE will have responsibility for defining key elements of our SD-WAN and overall SASE product strategy; working with engineering and marketing to build products; and assist in defining, articulating and executing the go to market strategy.The Sr. Director of Product Management and Technical Marketing will leverage their technical, analytical, process and strategic skills towards executing high impact value added opportunities that will drive the next phase of growth for VMware and SASE. This individual will partner closely with the engineering team, customers, executive leadership, and sales & marketing teams.The role requires an individual with strong product, business, operational, analytical, leadership, and partnering skills; collaborate with and drive a strong team of innovators and engineers to continue VMware’s tradition of building groundbreaking products; help to develop new ideas based on industry experience and contact with customers, prospects and partners and nurture a vibrant ecosystem to deliver SASE products that are optimized for the VMware platform and customers. The ideal candidate must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture, and the drive, influencing skills and ability to collaborate with R&D and Executive Staff to transform that vision into a reality. The successful candidate must also enjoy spending time in the market to understand customer problems and find innovative solutions for the broader market.Responsibilities IncludeGuiding and augmenting world-class product management teams the Sr. Director must develop an exemplary team of product managers who can lead the company into its next phase of growthAligning the platform vision with the overall company goals and visionLead the definition of next-generation security, networking and cloud technologies delivered as a serviceOversight of key parts of the product development process from inception to product delivery, Pricing & Packaging and Technical Partner MarketingPartnering with marketing to ensure the proper positioning and evangelization of VMware technologies within the broader infrastructure software marketWorking closely with sales to identify and address broad industry and market trendsNurture and grow partnerships, internally and externally, in order to continue to build out SASE’s products and solutionsJob RequirementsAt least 10 years of experience in product management, product marketing and/or general management.At least 5-7 years’ experience managing a sizable team of product managers.Specific networking, security or software experience in both large and small start-up companies requiredExcellent listening, oral and written communication/presentation skills with strong ability to influence people at all levels and in various functionsStrong awareness of technology trends and their potential influence on VMware’s businessStrong teaming skills and experience to bring together diverse viewsInnate interest in constantly learning new things and ways of workingCreates an inclusive, collaborative and fun way of sharing experience and learningsBA/BS required, in Computer Science or related technical degree preferredLocation:Palo Alto, CA or RemoteFor US based candidates, the annual pay range (OTE for commissioned roles; Salary for other roles) for this position is: $170,000 - $407,000. The actual offer will be based on the role, location, and individual candidate experience. Bonus, commission, and/or equity may be eligible for this position.
