Working as an Automation Engineer, you will be engaged in understanding key challenges we are solving for Telcos and simulate and automate the same in our labs and ensure our product fully addresses the customer needs. VMware has R&D offices around world including Bangalore, India.Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?Within your first 6 months: Understanding existing product features.Working on different components of the product.Understanding Tools and TechniquesUnderstanding the existing automation frameworkIdentifying Test Gaps and coming up with automation planContribution towards feature automationContribution towards deployment, upgrade, migration automationWithin your first 12 months: Own Certain modules of automation framework.Own some of deployment topologies end to end for automationBecoming Subject Matter Expect for certain modules in the product Controlling /reducing Customer found defectsProvide feedback in design and test-plan reviewsThe Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?As part of Automation TeamYou will be working on simulating and automating different customer topology requirementsConstantly assess and improve the automation based on customer defects and feedbacksWorking on test gap analysis for assigned module based on Customer Found defects.Following with Dev/PM to enhance coverage and closing the test gaps.Participation in test plan reviews, test case reviewsOur requirements from you as a part of the Automation Team areMust Have.Technical Skills : - Python preferred, with additional proficiency in other languages5 - 8 years of experience in Product Feature AutomationGood Knowledge of Automation Frameworks, Tools, and Design principles.Design and implement Automation efforts for some complex productsInstall, maintain and monitor systems running on physical hardware and virtualized environments.Assist with the maintenance of live production software. What is the structure and culture of the team like?This position reports to Engineering Manager based in Bangalore. The team consists of highly competent junior and senior engineers across India. This role is dedicated to India. We focus on Automation.You will be initially part of the established team that has a wide range of core responsibilities, but the expectation is that you will grow to specialist or subject matter expert. This is a great opportunity for someone who is eager to start new things and put their mark on a team and company.
