Search JobsJob DescriptionThe Elevator Pitch: Why will you enjoy this new opportunity?The Tanzu Mission Control team at VMware is seeking a Senior Product Line Manager to help define product strategy and advance our mission to make Kubernetes accessible to any enterprise. The Tanzu team is focused on helping customers more easily manage Kubernetes and operate modern, containerized applications across multiple clouds and clusters. You will play a pivotal role defining compelling and competitively differentiated capabilities, communicating our roadmap to internal and external stakeholders, understanding our customers deeply, and collaborating with marketing and sales to bring Tanzu to market. What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?In this role, you will be responsible for defining the product strategy to deliver a core set of Kubernetes cluster fleet management capabilities through the Tanzu Mission Control SaaS platform. You will drive the key features that will accelerate enterprise operations through embedded features and key integrations into the platform.Tanzu Mission Control is a critical element of the VMware Tanzu portfolio, and you will be responsible for identifying and addressing the needs of operations teams as they embrace Kubernetes and build cloud-native applications based on modern architectures, and operate at scale across distributed infrastructure. You will work closely with other VMware product teams to integrate key technologies to address those operations team’s needs.Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?You’ll partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations leads across Tanzu Mission Control to create a strategy and roadmap for delivering a cohesive set of features and integrations for Tanzu Mission Control.You’ll work across VMware product teams to identify integrations that deliver unique combined value for shared customers, defining strategies and roadmaps to deliver new features into the platform.You’ll coordinate across delivery and support teams to introduce new, integrated features into Tanzu Mission Control.You’ll work directly with customers to gather feature ideas, incorporate feedback and deliver iterative improvements that enable them to manage container workloads consistently across 10s of thousands of Kubernetes clusters in on-premises and public cloud domains.What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?You will own the definition of a set of integrations and capabilities within the Tanzu portfolio based on a deep understanding of customer needs, market trends, and the competition. Experience defining and prioritizing product features in a complex technical context will serve you well.You will collaborate with other Tanzu teams to plan and deliver integrated experiences across the portfolio. An ability to coordinate across integrated product roadmaps, navigate complex decision making and effectively communicate across teams will be critical to success.You will lead the product line through various stages from inception to launch to continuous improvement.You will partner with engineering to deliver iterative product releases. You will be engineering’s connection to our customers and will be responsible for bringing them along for the ride.You will engage frequently with customers to learn about their needs, and support the sales channel and key customers in a pre- and post-sales capacity. You’ll create solutions that scale to meet the needs of the world’s biggest enterprises.What is leadership like for this role? The actual offer will be based on the role, location, and individual candidate experience. Bonus, commission, and/or equity may be eligible for this position.
