Our mission is to provide a highly secure access to the managed clusters across different cloud providers and control plane.The team researches user needs and understands identity and security problems within both the Kubernetes ecosystem and the Tanzu portfolio. We collaborate with the Kubernetes community to build solutions which benefit anybody attempting to secure a Kubernetes cluster.TKP Authentication team is looking for Developers who are passionate about security, authentication, and authorization and who are familiar with Kubernetes and various authentication and authorization protocols and flows.Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6 months you will work toward completing?You have become familiar with the team’s technical domain and the authentication challenges facing a Kubernetes userYou are using your knowledge of our technical domain to advise and influence cross-team collaborationsProvide technical guidance as we solicit product feedback from the community. Ensure what we're building meets the expectations of reliability, scaling, and securityYou are actively engaged in helping the team maintain an iterative development process that prioritizes fast feedback loops, asking questions, and learning from mistakes.You are immersed in the team’s day to day operations; are advising other engineers on how to advance technical work streams. You have supported and guided the team in the creation of architecture/design artifacts and decisions The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?In this role, you will become an expert within MAPBU on securing access to Kubernetes as well as authentication protocols like OAuth, OIDC, LDAP, & SAML.You will:Collaborate with your PM & manager to define solutions which solve authentication challenges facing the Kubernetes communityCollaborate with various Open Source Software communities (e.g. Kubernetes, Pinniped, etc).You will bring innovative ideas to complex technical solutions and write code using Golang and declarative programming with Kubernetes Controllers/CRDs.You will work with other functions including program management, quality and site reliability engineers to improve the product.Lead and Mentor team members at different stages in their technical career.Support the team in breaking down complex stories into development tasks. Conduct code reviews, facilitate technical context sharing discussions.Collaborate with management, your team, and teams across the Tanzu Portfolio to achieve planned objectivesWhat is leadership like for this role? The actual offer will be based on the role, location, and individual candidate experience. Bonus, commission, and/or equity may be eligible for this position.
