The Build team in particular sits between backend engineering and operations, and are passionate about continually improving Slack's build, source control, and CI systems. We build and maintain systems that help hundreds of Slack engineers get their code out to millions of users. We work collaboratively with teams across the company to make sure builds and deploys are safe, reliable, and secure. We work frequently with Jenkins, Kubernetes, Terraform, Chef and AWS. Our team is a mix of engineers who love operations and SREs and who are invested in improving the productivity of our entire Engineering organization. If you're either of those, or somewhere in between, you could be an excellent fit. What you will be doing: Build automated tooling to configure and maintain our CI infrastructure and source control systems.Participate in the team on-call rotation, triaging and addressing production issues as they arise.Improve monitoring and alerting for our services.Improve automatic provisioning to address growth and demand.What we are looking for: At least 7 years of applicable engineering experience.Solid knowledge of Linux systems and AWSExperience using deployment automation/configuration management like Chef or Ansible.Experience using infrastructure tooling Terraform or CloudFormation. Experience with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, Circle CI, Github Actions) and have ideas on how to improve them.Explore and implement tools and technologies like Kubernetes to provision and configure scalable build frameworks in public clouds.Strong documentation, collaboration and communication skills.Experience in DevOps or Site Reliability EngineeringAccommodationsIf you require assistance due to a disability applying for open positions please submit a request via this Accommodations Request Form.Posting StatementAt Salesforce we believe that the business of business is to improve the state of our world.
