Your Key Responsibilities Would Include:Support and maintain the IT Infrastructure including computing, networking and storage resources. Provide support for the Research and Development infrastructure. Work with the global IT team to implement and maintain policies and procedures that are in support of corporate goals and initiatives.- Operate key systems and services to support the computing environment- Operate key support systems and tools (such as monitoring and configuration management tools)- Perform capacity planning, performance reporting and respond to capacity issues - Implement global infrastructure strategy decisions- Performance tuning and troubleshooting- Support end-user requests.- Respond to support tickets and escalations in a timely fashion - Propose new and innovative solutions to improve customer satisfaction, reduce support cost and decrease complexity- Consolidate and optimize infrastructure, as needed - Automate day-to-day tasks on service providing systems- Assist the business to achieve and maintain ISO certifications- Provide written documentation- Provide training to other teams as needed- Occasionally perform off hour maintenance and support- Research and assist with acquiring and purchasing of equipment locally as needed- Support global and local cross department projects and tasks- Maintain and manage the local data center servers and network equipment- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (approximately 23kg)The technologies you’ll need a significant level of understanding are:• Operating Systems: CentOS & RHEL Linux, Solaris, and Windows• Knowledge of Active Directory, OS Patching, and networking (IP, VLAN, basic network routing• Server Virtualization: VMware• Hardware: Dell and HP servers, workstations and laptops• Storage: Various storage systems including EMC and Netapp• Networking: Cisco Switches, Cisco Call Manager, Firewalls, DNS, DHCP, Cloud servicesEducation & Experience Necessary For Success:Education and certifications:Minimum 5 years previous experience.Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience.Relevant Microsoft Certification (i.e. MCSE, MCITP, MCM, MCA), a plusKey Skills:Excellent customer service skillsExcellent communications skillsExcellent troubleshooting skills.Knowledge and support of Linux/UNIX and Windows administration and related technologies.Knowledge and support of storage technologies including EMC and Netapp.Knowledge and support of backup software, i.e. NetBackup, Carbonite, Cloud Backup, and tape libraries.Good understanding of key network protocols and fundamentals.Working knowledge of administration and monitoring tools and solutions.Scripting skills a plusPassion for systems administration and open source technologies.A structured and open approach to your work and a great eye for detailInfinera is an equal opportunity employer.
