Java Software Engineer

Infinera is looking for a Software Engineer who is open to the challenge of developing new features for the Network Management Systems platform for Optical / Transport Networks.The candidate will work as an integral part of a cross-functional development team doing everything to deliver high quality software and create value to the organization.https://www.infinera.com/products/infinera-transcend-software-suite/Responsibility Area The candidate shall be responsible for the development of one or more Micro Service components or integration of opensource software that fit product functionalities.Infinera believes that everyone shall contribute to ensure the best result. The ideal candidate, besides actively participating in the complete development cycle, including analysis, design, implementation, and test of features shall want to take an active word in team decisions and contribute to the continuously improvement of SW, SW architecture and methods of working.Position Description (Java Software Engineer) The job requires a broad knowledge of software engineering practices, design patterns and ability to autonomously work, executing all the software engineering tasks required to convert requirements into ready-to-deploy functions.Besides his own coding the candidate will also collaborate in cross-teams code review/pull requests, pair programming, and propose enhancements always considering the cost/benefit relation.Position Requirements Requirements• MSc / BS degrees in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related fields• Experience and knowledge of Object-Oriented concepts, data structures and multi-threading• Database concepts• Openness to new environment, people, and culture• Fluent English, spoken and writtenBonus Points• Experience in Java, J2EE, EJB 3.1, Hibernate, JPA, GWT• Experience with Application servers (WildFly will be valued)• Experience with Angular programming• General UNIX, specifically Linux RH, and/or (Windows knowledge is expected) container base deployments• Experience with Network Technologies (e.g., Ethernet, IP, DWDM)• Experience in REST and Event Driven Architecture (e.g. Kafka, NATs)Infinera is an equal opportunity employer.
