Senior Product Engineer, Allentown, PennsylvaniaThis position is for a key technical resource within the Sub-Systems Manufacturing Team to improve the first pass yield of optical modules and line cards, provide debug guidelines and instructions to Manufacturing, and to provide continuous improvements on manufacturing processes, rework ability, and quality. The candidate should be able to technically communicate with product engineering team members and other cross-functional teams to resolve any critical production issues timely.Responsible for yield improvement and debug guidelines on a variant of optical modules and system line cardsDrive the implementation of ECOs based on design/product changesWork with optical component engineering on quality and cost reduction opportunitiesPartner with Manufacturers (internal or CM) for continuous yield/process improvementsAble to review product procurement specifications, test plans, pass/fail criteria, and to define the manufacturing process flowPropose debug guidelines for products with high volume Responsible for resolving critical manufacturing process issues of optical modules and line cardsDrive the reduction of product defects, root cause analysis, and corrective actions Be able to work independently and prioritize tasks on a weekly levelQualifications:BSEE/Physics, advance degree preferred3+ years direct experience with manufacturing process/assembly of fiber optical modules or/and line cards Hands-on experience with electrical/optical module parametric testing and troubleshootingHands-on experience with electrical/optical testing instruments and optical equipment such as Tunable Laser sources, OSA, multimeters, fiber splicing machines, fiber re-coaters, etc.Proficient with statistical analysis for process trends and further improvementsThe ideal candidate is analytic, detail-oriented, has great quantitative analysis skills, self-motivated, a great team player, able to pro-actively communicate with all employees, and work well in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skills requiredRequires a strong understanding of controls and process flowWorking knowledge of optical modules and line cards a plus!#LI-JP1Infinera is an equal opportunity employer.
